Like the place I went to after the trauma of working for U: There are a few people from other countries there who have very heavy accents only coming into this country the last few years. Many employees working there told me they are useless but can’t be fired because the “government†won't let them be, can you say paranoid. As it turns out they are very nice and very intelligent individuals having more brain cells then most. I view comments like this in the jealous column and the feel threatened category. People see how hard they work and how intelligent they are then co-workers think, oh crap, now I am going to have to think and actually work least they make me look bad. Where unions used to hide this human condition of doing the least amount possible this new world is fast changing, shining the light square on the slackers in industries where unions protected such workers that had it made for years and now these workers are being identified much to their personal chagrin, creating such comments.E-TRONS said:

How about we send YOU to Europe........let's pick Frankfurt, Germany and we will use Lufthansa as an example.
First off, EVERYTHING, even the logbooks are in GERMAN. Now let's presume you don't know a peep of German. Just how effective will you be at your job if you cannot read or understand what the heck the manuals are trying to say??? I'm sure one of your German speaking coworkers would gladly explain (Dumkopf) it to you in his native tongue. Oh yeah...that will work alright. "Que??" "Que??" Oh right....all the oversight by the understaffed FAA.

There is absolutely no difference when comparing the TIMCO or MAE third party outfits to the above scenario. Or is there?????
Yes indeed. The difference being Lufthansa will NOT hire anyone who is not fluent in German. PERIOD. I applied to them once and was told if I could not speak and write in German than there is the door. Much unlike the money grubbing-corner cutting corporations in America. For heaven's sake they are knowingly employing illegal aliens!!!! Don't you see a problem with that???? No??? Then take your head out of the sand. It's not a joking matter.
I have only 10 working days left in my aviation career at UAIR after 17 years. It is just not worth it anymore. Airlines could care less about quality maintenance but rather how cheap can they get it done for :down: . That is why all carriers that share this idiotic philosophy will ultimately go out of business.
You get what you pay for.......a bit more now or a whole lot later. Experience is something that is developed over many years.....you simply cannot go out and buy it or expect young pups fresh out of A&P school to possess such abilities. Much less illegal aliens. I don't care who you are and how many MBA's you have because you are dead wrong 😛 !!!! But that will all change once BUSH implements his amnesty program for illegals in the USA right? Give me a friggin break :down: .
Print a copy of this post and save it until the day comes when a fully loaded plane crashes after undergoing an outsourced maintenance visit. It happened before with TIMCO some years back (Emery DC-8) where everyone on the test hop was killed. And it will happen again. Perhaps at that point in time you can re-read my post and tell why didn't someone stop this????? Too little...Too late. As usual.

My downfall? Like I said. I am out of here in 10 working days WITHOUT any job lined up.....all on my own accord. You are the one choosing to remain(?).
Pride and confidence are two different animals. I am leaving the airlines FOREVER!! Copy that? 17 years gone for the chance at living like normal people do. And I already feel happier
!! You can stay behind and wallow in the crap that is gathering like a landslide. I know what I am capable of and I am confident that I will have a new career going before long. What about you???
I hope you enjoy yourself as this airline spins out. If you are lucky you won't be in another city when it does. Then again, maybe your position will be outsourced before that time(?).

Hey, I understand your plight. I was just talking to a fellow mechanic not an hour ago at the market who works in pit soon to be furloughed. He told me it's a wonder someone doesn't bring in a submachine gun. Stress is an understatement, and it's also why you are ranting so much about planes falling out of the sky. Me, I retired months ago and on my second job working at a large company where people are respected for what they are and treated as an asset and not a liability. I made that choice knowing what U had in store for its employees, you can too instead of ranting nonsense on these boards trying to make your self feel better.
Best Of Luck my ex co-worker. From here it gets easier or harder depending what YOU choose to do and bitching is not an option..
