Been browsing the board for a year, dear, and you should not take so lightly to such rude commentary (referring to the "are you dead" post)
You are both refreshing and very obviously a positive energy - - even without the stolen trademark infringement (wendy's and travelocity) you are an extremely marketable presence on this board with your unusual talent and wit. Your aura would be missed were you to stop and I suspect the hits on the board would decline as well. One would only hope your aspirations are beyond the airline community (the numero dos fry bay) and I also hear you are beautiful in person, unlike a swine per your small joke.

Embrace it and do something worthwile instead of wilt in this rotting industry. You are little gem.


To return to topic, the customer service group has never been very vocal and is up to its members to coerse their representation to start a fuss, I have not seen this happen yet historically at this airline. You pay your dues, start making noise. I am not trying to be inflammitory, only suggesting.

And, also, HAS the agent group ever gone on strike, threatened to, or even gotten mad enough to think about it? How would one go about that? I am so bleeping over the new register entrapments and this choice restaruant seating baloney has me wondering if I should go back on the benzos.

Management files to reject the contracts of passenger service, flight attendants, mechanics and ramp, and also files to terminate all pension plans...

30 minutes before meeting to receive a CWA proposal on Friday, management notified us that they have filed in bankruptcy court to reject our passenger service contract in its entirety, along with those of the flight attendants, rampers and mechanics. They also notified us that they are seeking to terminate our long-frozen pension plan, along with the pension plans of the flight attendants and the mechanics.
At the meeting Friday management could not explain how our frozen plan (which they now claim is $270 million underfunded) could have deteriorated when it was fully funded at the time it was frozen.
CWA will meet with actuaries for the plan to try to get to the bottom of that question.
We continue to present proposals to management to try to reach a fair settlement. At the same time, we have made it clear that we do not agree to management demands to eliminate res and contract the work out.

With strong showings from all locations and workgroups, the CWA Passenger Service local presidents counted the ballots today at CWA’s national headquarters in Washington, DC.
The final vote tally was 86% in favor of strike authorization and 14% opposed. Full details and explanation of the strike vote authorization process and procedures, including CWA strike benefits, is contained in the letter you received at your home address accompanying your strike authorization ballot.
The CWA local presidents immediately issued this statement: “Thank you, agents and reps, for giving us this show of strength and determination. We pledge to make every effort to reach a reasonable settlement with management – a settlement that can be ratified by a vote of the employees. Thank you for support.â€￾
CWA Board Clears the Way for Possible Strike By US Airways Passenger Service Agents

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Communications Workers of America's national executive board voted unanimously to authorize strike action by 6,000 passenger service agents against US Airways, clearing the way for CWA's president to set a strike date.
The passenger agents earlier this month voted by 86 percent to authorize a strike against the airline in a membership referendum.
Meanwhile, CWA negotiators are continuing to meet this week with US Airways management in an attempt to reach a new labor settlement.
The airline has demanded devastating pay and benefit concessions from the agents and has petitioned the bankruptcy judge to throw out their union contract.
Abrogation of the contract would allow the agents to strike or engage in other job actions.
 
Watch the language and if you are going to post pictures of famous people, real or puppet, make sure you have the permission of the person(s) holding the copyright for that photo.

You may object to the actions of this person and state so. Pig photos, etc. to denote that person are in bad taste and not acceptable.
How can a photo that can be collected on any web page have copyrights to it. I find it hard to believe. I think we are closing in on socialism here ....I can understand about personal attacks but a picture.................I have other comments but am afraid of the consequences (sound familiar)?
 
Velvet is CWA political hack appointee by CWA president Larry Cohen. She collects a six figure salary from your union dues and has a fondness for donuts.

She basically does nothing, allows the company to walk all over our contract ( done any PDQ's lately ) and is too good to even answer your calls or e-mails.

She needs to go. Every station needs to petition Cohen to get rid of her.
six figures and i am getting downgraded to part time....what the hell....she has proven time and time again she is a liar. Maybe her lies will catch up to her....and maybe soon???? I am all for getting a petition going to oust her....the idea has been floating around in our station for the past month....the fat lady is not singing yet.....

Better yet, a petition for a whole new election to replace the CWA with a REAL union

Well I hope they are not like American Politicians where it is almost impossible to vote them out due to the power and favors they wield.

I agree 100% CWA must go!!!!!! How many times are they going tp throw us under the bus before we get rid of them...........But if you even mention it here in philly everyone goes running scared.....the union has everyone convinced that if we decertify CWA we will not get the 51% needed to vote in a new union which is bull%$## the west is already represented by teamsters in the deal they made at the begining of the merger so we already have their support and now that we have this new attendance policy plus the fact that we lost the pay arbitration I think enough people are disgusted enough to to bring in a new union


The pay arbitration just about sent me over the edge!!!!! First of all the company should never have fought it...we will never be a unified company as long as there is this east/west divide
and second of all who picked this arbitrator who thinks that the companies argument made sense!!??

The silence is deafening from the union.....Velvet are you listening????How in Gods name did this slip by our union at the time they were negotiating the joint union of CWA and Teamsters

So now we have hundreds of original US agents behind in pay anywhere from 15 months to 3 years than their counterparts at AWA

Here in philly we dont have and AWA employees but in PHX and LAS if I had to work next to an agent hired the same day as me and was making 1,2 or 3 dollars more than me I would want to kill them...I know its not their fault but its only human if I am doing the exact same job .

CWA MUST GO ....DO YOU HERE ME VELVET.....YOU SHOULD BE FEEING VERY NERVOUS !!!!!!!!!!

Don't you have a union council that you can bring her up on charges for misrepresentation?
