Veterans Day

Veteran's Day 2012 is upon us, on Monday, November 12th, and banks and government agencies are closed, while some get a day off of work. But why do Americans celebrate this holiday, and where did it originally come from? V-Day is one of the holidays on the short list of official ones in the Untied States, a federal holiday that is always observed on the 11th of February. Veteran day is a day to celebrate all of those currently serving, and having served in the Armed Services, unlike Memorial Day, which honors those who died while serving.
