Many things could be said regarding this video. For me the first thing I thought as I watched was the words spoken to me by a Young (24) Russian Jew who was allowed to leave the USSR with the clothes on her back and 1 suitcase full of belongs back in 1983.

Valentina's words have stuck with me oh these many years. No one I've ever met said it better. How come she gets it and we don't as we squander our wealth and sacred honor at the alter of freedom robbing socialists like Obama.

Agreed, I've met many people from foreign lands that moved here to enjoy freedom...........heard them say we are going toward where they left. It makes one wonder how so many, and in particular, so many on this forum embrace the ideals they fled.

History has told us from nearly every imaginable source the PRIMARY reason the the collapse of the USSR was a flawed economic model (Socialism) coupled with mountainous debt incurred in order to attempt to compete with the USA's defense buildup. The USSR leaving Afghanistan with their tail between their legs was merely a harbinger of what was to come. When you can't feed and clothe your people they take to the streets and things like the Berlin Wall go bye bye and freedom and Liberty begin to grow. Having a POTUS like RR pestering them at every turn didn't help them much either.

No. He claimed that the primary cause was their economic plan (socialism). In my opinion they were not socialist. They were a totalitarian dictatorship. Huge difference.

They collapsed because they were corrupt and inept. Their debt was a contributing factor, not the main one.
