What do you think Tony Blair is going to come up with? Is he going to pull a Jimmy Carter and let the soldiers have a vacation in Tehran? Is it now time to act against these kidnappers?

It is funny though that the British government asked the U.S. to shut-up so they could get the job done right.

"The United States, however, is deliberately remaining low key about the situation because the British government has asked it to do so, senior U.S. officials tell CNN.

The officials said the British had asked the U.S. not to make harsh statements about the incident that would set up the incident as a U.S. versus Iran issue.

"They have asked us to keep the rhetoric down and not do anything that would jeopardize their efforts to get the sailors and marines released," one senior official said."

Jimmy Carter, do you have to bring him up….
Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda…

If we would have walked in the ‘front’ door and demanded our citizens back or given them a good A$$ whipping (and followed up on it) I doubt these cowards would be ‘repeating’ their similar actions today.
(funny thing about history if you chose to ignore it)

Missed opportunities are here and will come back to haunt us all. Doh!!

UK ‘should’ take a hard stance and US ‘should’ back them 100%.

How it will actually play out is anyone’s guess. 🙄

Yea the British are taking the case to the UN...Whooooooo

That should bring'em to their knees.

It's worthwhile pondering what has been going on in the region lately behind the scenes as it provides a clue to the Iranian mindset.

Mr. Bush publically announced weeks ago that America had informed Iran that we would no longer stand by as Iranian operatives continued to incite violence in Iraq. OK, sounds simple enough.

But what that really means is that we were declaring open season upon Iranian special ops and agents ( read that assassinations/elimination ). I suspect that our ops people have been having a turkey shoot tracking down these Iranian citizens/spies ( who knows, some of it might even be occuring within Iran -- and you know we can move our people in and out ).

Since the Brits have been handling the waterways on the border with Iraq/Iran, they became a logical target for a quick run across the border to snatch those Brits and up the ante in this game of stink finger between governments.

Thus far, Blair has been publically indecisive. Then again, he has caught the Bush flu and even his own party will not stand near him.

My own surprise is that given the complexities of clandestine politics leading up to this political kidnapping that the Brits ( who are ordinarily very perfunctory ) were not on their toes during the search. One huey hovering near the Marines would have foiled this Iranian people grab.

We should pull-out and let the Israeli's fight 'em. This way they'll get the job done right, they don't care who they kill.

...And who is it that hides behind their womens skirts and little children while launching unprovoked attacks from inside mosque's across the border into Israel?
