In the current schedule there are upto 5x daily S80 movements at LAX (2x AUS, 3x STL). Seems silly to stock parts for them for only five flights when the bulk of the LAX operations have transitioned to 738s and more recently 321s. S80s were removed from MIA in early 2005 to minimize fleet complexity, and other markets along the coasts haven't seen scheduled S80s in years (BOS, NYC, SEA, SFO, among others). Can't wait until they are all gone from the fleet good riddance.

One md80 arcft 499which had been hit by a pushback in july was repaired and will fly thru 2017

Once again you show your ignorance.

An airline only stocks certain parts at the outstations.

So what is the parts inventory at LAX for the MD80s mr who thinks he knows it all?

If a plane goes AOG its faster to get it back in service if the basic parts are stocked at the outstations.

Clearly you dont know how an airline runs its maintenance program.

Canceled and delayed flights cost airlines money, that is why you stock parts at outstations, as planes break everywhere, that is why there is a predetermined inventory throughout the system.

Guess you don't realize LAX is and has been a hub for years (officially in 2010 as part of the cornerstone plan)

Its quite apparent you clearly dont know how an airline runs it maintenance operation.

And answer the questions, see you have a particular M.O. when you are wrong and/or dont know the answers you try to avoid answering and change the subject all the time.

Another wasted thread you started, how many have been locked and removed now that you started?

What parts are stocked at LAX for the MD80 operation?

Should have been gone a long time ago. Fortunately I rarely fly them.
