Wonder if the fact that the new US Ambassador is/was a DL Plat Medallion has anything to do with it?

Im sure our brilliant VP of Operations, Mr. Al Crellin, will get to the bottom of this immediately. After all, he is very well compensated for his talent, and according to Mr. Lakefield, the company could be in very dire straights if the likes of those in his position leave the company..... <_<

Not Enough E170s to go around.

FLL-PLS was to be MDA service. 🙁

I believe the last skd change showed FLL-PLS as CRJ service, but it appears that they have taken an RJ out of the FLL mix. No TPA-FLL service and only 3 FLL-EYW flights (instead of 4) and the NAS flights have also disappeared and are now replaced with Bahamasair codeshare flights from FLL. Looks like maybe 1 CRJ was needed elsewhere and these were the routes they pulled.
As far as being subject to govt approval, it would still show in the skd with this disclaimer just like several of the Central American routes show.

 Looks like they are going to use the equipment to fly PHL Atl market. Atl was suppose to be all 737's, now the schedule is a cornucopia of equipment erj crj 170 and 737.

However, with the new mix of A/C going to ATL in the new schedule, the city will see an additional 294 seats into the market daily.

And although this may be due to new E70 non-stop service to DCA, compare ATL to ORD, which also gets E70 service. ORD loses 180 seats daily even with the new E70 to DCA.

Just to add a bit more, for the new schedule US will add the following seat capacity in each market (total seats, including US Airways, US Airways Express, & MidAtlantic Airways):

RIC: +2%
SYR: +7%
JAX: +9%
MDT: +10%
ROC: +14%
EWR: +14%
IAD: +16%
BUF: +17%
DFW: +24%
LAS: +28%
IAH: +30%
ISP: +35%
MIA: +36%
CLE: +37%
CLE: +44%
DTW: +45%
SRQ: +122%

This bodes well for the company, regardless of whether this is US or USX service.

It would seem that eventually most of the larger airports are getting to the point of saturation and will become slot controlled at some point. Then it will become an issue of running 8 or 9 little RJ's and tying up those slots when 3 or 4 larger jets could accomodate the same number of seats. Then the govt could force out the smaller planes and the "flavor of the month" RJ's will be parked and the company wanting to puchase larger planes again? Just seems to me the company is packing too many eggs into a small basket, when it comes to preaching the glory of an RJ fleet. But just my opinion...Im not a highly paid, talented exec.

of course most of the routes that you speak of would be better served with the dash8-400 then any of the rj's that are in the u mix. as horizon has figured out it is much more efficient then the rj70's

While that is true, what do you do about passenger acceptance when all of the competition is flying a jet? Additionally, I flew a 330 knot turboprop and you can only go as fast as the Dash8-100 in front of you. " Allegheny say speed, 210 knots, Bluestreak speed 210" All the while you are 200 miles from PHL or CLT. The airplane becomes an oddball too fast for the vast majority of props but too slow to fly jet arrivals.
