1. Don't think the company owes you something because the t/a's were ratified. They are not grateful. You are making (or are about to be) exactly what they think you should have been making all along. Silly you; you've been overpaid the past decade.
2. All the unions are walking around hairy-chested, saying, by God, management better not come back for more!
BULLHOCKEY!! You stood still for it (and if the truth were known, complicit in it)twice. You'll stand still for it again. "We've already determined what kind of girl you are;we're just negotiating the price."
3. There will be the inevitable posts, ad nauseum, to give til it hurts.
Help me with a catchy new slogan.
Concessions, Part I - Ratify or abrogate!
CPII - Ratify or liquidate!
CPIII - Ratify or ???????
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It still applies. Of course, they'll be back - we're GIVING it to them.
For those who say the pressure is on management, that was said after Concessions I and II. Wasn't true then; isn't true now. Furthermore, management has innoculated themselves against this kind of expectation; note they are predicting turbulence ahead, and no profits until 2007.
When the company comes back, within the next 18 months, and says gimme, the unions will give it up again. You need look no further than the original class II stations in 1999, and what happened to them (they went by-by), and the NEW list of class II stations. They are next to be thrown overboard.
Will U make it? I'd gamble yes. They are the perfect tool to drive labor costs down across the board in aviation, which is the new religion.
