Will Piedmont receive AEs E-175s

American Eagle pilots have rejected 70% a contract offer that included 60 E-175s.  This morning Kenji Hashimoto was at SBY with Piedmont employees.  Should Piedmont receive the E-175s?
 
Piedmont cannot replace a 2700 pilot group, but giving them 20 or so aircraft would have an effect on the eagle group. For Piedmont, it's their only hope for survival. 
 
And, they would take struck flying from what is now a fellow group of pilots?  Nice.  Oh, and don't bother with the technicality that it isn't actually struck work.  In principle it is, and you all know it.  Taking the airplanes and the flying from fellow pilots who have rejected a contract is scab work.

The AE pilots have an existing CBA, they are not in Section 6 negotiations, and will not be going on strike.
 
They all ready took concessions and AA wanted them to take more.  They voted down concessions, they still remain under a CBA that is not up for Section 6 negotiations.
 
So how is it struck work?
 
And look around ALPA, APA and all the pilots unions have been selling themselves and others to the wolves for years.
 
Look at every RJ, that is outsourced.
 
You have an incisive grasp of the obvious. Too bad you have no ability to read and comprehend. Did I or did I not say don't bother with the "not really struck work" argument? In principle taking work from another union group that is trying to get a better contract is the same thing as if they were already on strike.

And, let's do go on using the "people have done it for years" argument to perpetuate union busting--that's what it is, you know. God forbid any of us who are union members should take a step back and think, "Wait a minute. If we give the company the ability to screw over another pilot/fa/mechanic group, then someone else will probably be willing to do the same to us."
 
So have the 175s been promised to Eagle or contractually agreed upon? If mainline puts 330s in PHX can the east pilots strike? At what point can Piedmont accept new aircraft? Who's planes are about to run out of life, Eagles or Piedmonts? Having multiple wholly owned is sadly a Company advantage.

Q1. I believe the 175s were a verbal incentive to sign for concessions, i.e., "If you give us these concessions, we'll buy you new bigger shiny jets!".
Q2. Good question - USAPA is still under injunction, so no job action anyway....but, if they could, would it be a 'legal' complaint? Since there is no east/west metal any longer, it could be possible for the co. to put 330s in PHX. I think the most the east guys could do at this juncture is complain. And we know what that gets us.....
Q3. Piedmont is a wholly owned, and does only what the company wants it to do. The old complaint from Piedmont guys was that the mainline contract limited them to 50 seat turboprops, so they couldn't run the Q400's without USAPA contract changes. Of course, the company can bargain with USAPA for these changes, but chose not to. Perhaps because of the 500+ grievances or the sub-standard mainline contract, who knows? Now that US pilots are under the AA contract, AA scope would prevail. 
Q4. Piedmont's Dash's are just about kaput. Bombardier will not issue another service life extension on the airframe, and most of the frames are nearing the end of the road. Eagles jets are just small and expensive to operate (35 and 50 seaters).
Q5. Agreed wholeheartedly. Divide and conquer has been an excellent strategy throughout human existence, and continues to be to this day. Closer to home, we have: East, West, and AA mainline that are all wholly-owned subsidiaries of AA Group. Top management loves this arrangement, and laughs every time we fight amongst ourselves over the crumbs they drop under the dinner table (or hint that they might let slide off the table). Pilots are, as a group, collectively competitive and stupid. They have no solidarity, and everyone thinks their educated estimation and opinion is the correct one. It is truly a disfunctional group and is easily taken advantage of by a smart managment team.

And Kenji said that there was no Piedmont could be ready in time to take delivery of those frames.

Due you even know the history behind Piedmont still having DH8 and not RJ’s

4 Dash's left the fleet last year, 2 more will leave this year. No replacements on the horizon.
 
The E170 is the new regional baseline aircraft. Seems that management thinks they can make money with no fewer seats.
So it's just not Piedmont that's in danger of extinction, it's Air Whiskey, Eagle, and any other under 76-seat operator.
I would guess that even the -170 won't last long as the baseline, but will quickly be usurped by the -175 or -190.
Depends on how real the pilot shortage is....
