Ryan Air is similar. So what? Spirit does much the same here. The difference in the above mentioned carriers is that they make no bones about their pricing policies and people who choose them are well aware of this,

US pretends to be a full service carrier while doing a great deal of nickel & diiming.

This is why if I were US I'd not be so happy with a southwest/airtran hookup as WN is an airline that knows exactly who it is and US Doesn't

No other airline can challenge every single airline in the industry - save Hawaiian - in such a competitive way.

Of course they are a big force to reckon with.



And I would hope revenue floodgates are opened by purchasing AirTran...

It seems that WN lives up to its name. I knew the acquisition of Air Tran wasn't a frivolous move on the part Southwest. I think it aims to celebrate its 40th birthday in a big way B)

Really Never Understood this great Lovefest that some people have with Southwest. Personally, they would be MY L-a-s-t Choice in picking an airline. I don't care for ANY THING about them. Not a fan of the CattleCar Boarding, their tacky chic whatever the hell you want to call it business operandi and that latest commercial they have airing is SWA in a nutshell. They would never be considered in MY Business plans. Too many people give them WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much credit. As a domestic carrier they may be an option for some people but they would never be My Choice. They sort of remind me of Starbucks..........some people RAVE about that crap........I think it's NASTY crap fit for the drain. When I think of airline travel I look to established carriers that have some sort of class and style..........and "move about the cabin" is FAR From it. I generally never single out individual companies to launch an attack on but this LOVEFEST is so nauseating it really chaffes my * to no end. And I am sure Delta will hold their own on the 'Big Bad Wolf' coming to Atlanta.

Southwest implanted a LUV chip inside our brains and the idea of saving money makes people crazy :blink: Delta may hold their own against WN, but they won't come away without wounds to their bottom line.

So not everybody likes Southwest and you can't keep everybody happy. I know places that are BEGGING WN to come to their area. How often do they beg for Delta? I know people who would drive 300 miles roundtrip to fly Southwest because it's actually cheaper
