If the company is going to force me to use Wings for work forms, then shouldn't the site actually work? It's been down for hours now.

They probably don't know about it yet. It's still early over there. Rush hour traffic in Phoenix is in full swing. They should be turning on the lights any minute now

Now, now...as soon as the IT folks discovered that Wings was down they posted an estimated time that it would be back up...on Wings...LOL

The new TSA regulations regarding complete name and boarding passes goes into effect today on Wings. I think a new pop-up is being implemented to comply with the regs. I suspect this has something to do with the problem. You know how much difficulty the IT Department has with any changes to the website. I suspect it will be back up about the middle of next week.

Great. On a day that a form has to be submitted ONLY via Wings by noon. "Facsimiles not accepted". Freakin brilliant.

Hi Everyone,

As you're well aware (perhaps even painfully), there's some technical difficulties associated with the Wings log-in system today. The issues are being worked out as expeditiously as possible. Now, this is the part where I say sorry and thanks for your patience knowing full well I’ll get flamed for doing so. But hey—I can take it. I’m a big boy. 🙂

I’ll post back here when it’s back up and running. In the meantime, hang in there. Thanks, all, for running such a great airline (and I do mean that sincerely). We’ll get you what you need to do your jobs as soon as we can.

P.S. - The ETC is not affected. It's up and running.

Opens can:

"Thanks, all, for running such a great airline (and I do mean that sincerely)."

Goes back to sleep.

I think we should have a contest to see how many times we hear that phrase in its various forms said at every meeting or temporary roadblock. Or maybe have a top ten meaningless compliments from management list.

ugh. who knows.

How funny.

Do they get pinged at HQ when we start raising hell about something such as Wings on this board?

What is missing is the obvious, but never uttered, byline. The full quote should read: "Thanks, all, for running such a great airline, despite the fact that no one in Tempe as the first clue as to what they are doing."

An outage of Wings for longer than 30 minutes should be totally unacceptable to HQ! OCC relies on it as a primary source for important docs such as the QRHs, MEL books, and the FOM! The IT department should have been at work immediately as soon as they got notice of this problem, which I'm sure the first calls went out after dispatchers couldn't access the above docs! Perhaps if CHQ hadn't put the OCC over 1000 miles away it would have a better appreciation for the requirements by OCC for these systems to be running at full strength 24/7/365! Yes I know there are paper backups for the above docs but they are few and far between for a group of over 100!

MCD, while I do appreciate you explaining what's going on, the fact that you're doing it in a public forum, but NOT via crew mail or on The Hub (which does work, but not for what I need it for--inflight was moved months ago) kinda irritates me. Not one company publication has made note of this outage yet.

Seeing as that an entire work day has come and gone, are we going to get additional time to submit claims, vacation requests, transfers, and VPLOAs? It's been over 8 hours since I first tried to log on and still nada.

Somebody call the Geek Squad at Best Buy in Tempe and send them over.

They probably should have left well enough alone and kept The Hub. It always worked perfectly fine.
