The building was in fact evacuted earlier tonight. A back up battery to the power system exploded (or something along those lines).

The res desks are back up now

I bet the company docked pay for the missing time, right? It's what they used to do in the past when similar events beyond employees control occurred.

I guess I have a couple of questions.

Any one want to venture a guess how much revenue was lost by the outage.

Why didn't the calls get picked up or transfered to other res center?

What kind of plan is in place should somethng happen where Winston is down for a day, two days, etc. I'm quiet sure that the award winning web site can pick up most of the slack but not all of it.

Hello, anybody home?

As I've mentioned here and elsewhere, this is why a single res center is a stupid decision on management's part.

But US does not have just a single res center. There is San Salvador, Mexico City and soon to be Manila.

As for the fiasco, 2.5 hours in the parking lot all expenses paid. Not a manager in sight. It was a complete joke.

MEX, SAL are all ready operating, and soon to be MNL office will be running. But, that aside PIT was fully functioning on Sunday night and calls went there. I dont see what the ballyhoo is about, as plenty of times they have had to evacuate or have crashed and INT has kept on going.

However, INT does hold CHP desk and that did upset a few people that they couldn't have immediate service and they made sure to tell us when we came back up. Bob this is not a reflection of you or FFocus, but some of your bretheren as you well know have no manners  and believe US employees are solely there to act as their personal whipping posts.

PIT has never gone down all the way unless palnned, ie.. UPS change out. We have two buildings, if one goes down we go to the other one.
