A long weekend, with bad wether in CLT, is still better than a clear day in Philly. CLT would still have shorter delays.

Too bad I'm passriding on AirTran tomorrow PBI-BWI...I won't be delivering the coffee I got you in Costa Rica just yet but next weekend I'll be on US through CLT each way so you better be on shift Shannon International Disaster!

I sure am glad management rented skid loaders today to remove all the snow. They even called people on overtime to run them. They must have done a great job because there is not a bit of snow on the ramp. Typical panic button reaction.

That's life in Charlotte in the winter. This morning I turned on channel 6 and they had 5 remotes covering the pending snowstorm. So far, we have a dusting and it's pretty much done. I worked in PHL and DEN with US (no longer with...) and living in CLT now, I just laugh at all of the "get milk, bread, fill up the tank" pandemonium that sets in.

The hell with the milk, bread and gas I had to get a new keg of Amstel Light

And God forbit if they HADN'T made this move. You would be complaining about that lack of reaction. It's impossible to make some people happy!

Its called sarcasm. You would have to live around here to understand what kind of panic the word "snow" in a weather forecast causes. There was one time a few years ago when the weather man said we were in for a blizzard. No way it could miss us. Chance of snow 100%. We should get upwards of a foot of snow. They started canceling schools and closing businesses and gov't offices the night before the "storm of the century". The next day not a single flake fell. No snow what so ever. Then you have the local weather remotes. Like they did yesterday they sent out dozens of reporters in various locations looking for snow or ice. They were hard pressed to find anything frozen.

Who is responsible for snow removal on the ramp? The airport or USAirways.

The milk, bread and beer runs are a whole other story. Its actually quite humorous. Most have never been "snowed in" a day in their life.

Hadenough,
The city does the main ramp in the alleys and at the end of the concourse where the taxi lines are,
although rarely have I ever seen them do that, they are usually to overwhelmed with runways/taxiways

UsAirways is responsible for the gate areas.

I seem to recall more freezing rain and ice storms than anything else. I would take snow over that stuff any day.
