WORK SAFE,,,WORK SMART

prince

heard about the pit bash .. I see you abided with safety and used a Designated Driver.

Good luck in your future endeavors

Thanks! It was a GREAT party. The most dangerous thing there besides me were all of the inebriated ladies who wanted to share some...(((ahem)))......certain private thoughts.

Yeah, it was a great party!

Back in 1999 we voted down a CBA.

Before we went into negotiations EVERY M&R employee had a red sweatband on.

As did the NC when they went into the marathon negotiations, that show of solidarity had the company scrambling and were trying to force everyone to take them off.

Well low and behold no one did and we walked out of there with a greatly enhanced CBA.

700,

Honestly, without me trying to be Mr. Funny Guy, I think these guys could use your tactic to their advantage.

Get DoUgIe t-shirts, like the ones I wish I made. Black with white text. Watch people squirm.

"What do you think we’ve been doing here over on the west side ?
"

Your a confusing sort. 1st you say wait until a later day , here you say your not playing gin rummy but doing something.

listen , in case you didn't know this MANAGEMENT thrives on this board . SO why don't you keep your wildcat ideas and sabotage thoughts to yourself.

And yes that's all I got . I WANT MY BROTHER AND SISTERS TO WORK SAFE today and EVERYDAY. Something you guys lax in phx

Hey PAWOB where's my PAWOB shirt I was promised a while ago?

and I'd love to be nonrevving around with a Dougie shirt but I'd get caught and shipped to PHX to be hung on the gallows front of the Sand Castle.

Wish you would pass all the rules onto the pilots.

I know quite a few who would ensure compliance.

(If you a wondering why the plane is not pulling in, check for lighted wands, two wing walkers and no equipment over the line. Did I get them all?) It might be helpful if there is someone to operate the jetway before fully pulling into the parking spot, for safety reasons.

As always you must work SAFE and work SMART. If your equipment doesn't work (PHL) tag it out. 😛h34r:

A majority of our GSE is down... we have run out of "red-tags".... hmmm. No above and beyond at our station... work slow use what "little" you have to get the job done and when the plane leaves it leaves. Bags come off...bags go on.... Business as usual... no need to slow down and work safer.. it is already SLOW.

Now that the COC grievance is over, I would like to suggest that those folks that linger on this board that constantly have a gripe or something negative to chip in ( I don't blame you though... there is plenty to gripe about with the way our company works) use that energy to stand up to this freakin company and union and get the gears turning in a way that will get us something more than a raw deal. We haven't had one decent development that positively affects our work group whether it be East or West or BOTH... stand in SOLIDARITY this time... together we stand ...divided we fall

Keep up the work stoppage mantra......let the company come and subpoena US Avi for IP info.

More like some of us will subpoena the company when we get injured for using GSE that is marginal and mgmt is aware of the shortcomings. Really we are doing the company a favor for continuing to try to do our job properly without the resources effectively working.... same ole song and dance. Like I said in my previous post...no need to chant a work stoppage mantra, it is already slow for a reason....

If working safe is all you’ve got up your sleeve then you ain’t see nothing yet .. What do you think we’ve been doing here over on the west side ? Sitting in the break room playing gin rummy everyday ? … don’t you think we haven’t planed for this exact scenario to play out ? I’m sure corporate has , but we’ve got the better play book ….

Now I know and everyone else knows that the east’s first reaction will be to throw a temper tantrum , but I urge you to be SMARTER than the company , don’t react as they expect you too … at least not WHEN they expect you too . Please lets not give the company yet ANOTHER win by doing what they will have prepared for ….

I’m not saying don’t act , I’m just saying wait until after the outcome of the jan 22 company union meeting .

Safety is not a game, rules were devised and printed for your protection. Follow them, it's for your own best interest. Are you saying not to be safe and not put up the hand rails, ride on a moving belt, don't wear hearing protection, park eq. in side a/c parking lines, use less chalks and bring in a/c after dark with no wands.Have you ever seen a serious injury on the ramp? It's in the contract if you can't get released from the company doctor after 3 years your deemed resigned. I've seen guy's careers ended because they've worked unsafe, gotten injured and couldn't get released to come back to work.Grow up dude, you sound like a two year agent who trust your manager when he says park the plane and chalk it with your head. Work safe is not a tactic to achieve a contract, it's a life style if you want to survive and have a career with this compay
regards

PS. anyone who loads abin by themselves need to be turned in to the company as a safety hazard.

You know your right , safety first . To be honest with you , I have to admit I’m one to sometimes ignore the safety rules in order to get the job done fast … I’m starting to wonder if I should change my ways and work by the safety guidelines … However I’m not going to give it more thought until after the 3 day meeting on the 21st . . I guess what I’m saying is if this company doesn’t care about me , then I will have to make sure that my number one priority at work is me and then everything else second .

We have to realize by following safety guidelines we are obeying the rules put in place
by the local authority and by not we are indeed breaking them. Just obey the work rules,
quite simple. The company see's this as a threat, shame on them. We have been ignoring
the rules for far to long to get the job done, putting ourselves in the cross hairs. If we obey
them now were heading in the right direction and to continue ignoring them allows management
and corporate to sit back and laugh...''Kah Ching''. Ask yourself how many times youv'e done
something unsafe. A.) A bag on the hood or roof of a cart.
B.) Driven outside the designated areas or above the posted MPH.
C.) Towed more than the appropriate number of carts.
D.) Opereated a tug without headlights, wipers, no emergency brakes.
E.) Carts with low or flat or for that matter no tire (happened the other day in Phl).
...I could go on and on. Management see's it when they want and ignores it most
of the time because they know the job will not get done if they intervene. We have to
get some leverage back and oddly enough that imply's obeying the rules.

Thanks
