K-9's in law enforcement have a place. However I'd argue that using them to seek out drugs is a waste of dog power.
 
The war on drugs is was and always will be a waste of valuable resources. We've learned nothing from the days of prohibition except that Al Capone's vault was empty (Thanks Geraldo).

Hmmmm...dogs are great. A little story about 12 years ago I witnessed a police dog attack an airline employee. She was just trying to pet him. But that is neither here nor there.
