Would Us Be Profitable If It Used F100 Again ?

The F-100 was a mechanics nightmare. Especially for mechanics that had to work on them in the northern stations like Boston. The oil seals didn't like the winter weather. And the landing gears and struts were a nightmare also. Hee-hee- Bring back the good ole CV-580's .

Was the Fokker 100 and 70 the reason Fokker went out of business or were there other reasons going on besides that ? How did the price of a Fokker 100 compare to other planes it's size ?

I think Fokker just got caught in the same squeeze that put McD-D into Boeing's hands, and caused BAe and Fairchild-Dornier to bail out of the commercial airliner biz shortly thereafter.

I seem to recall that they were really lowballing the price near the end to try to drum up orders.

Thank you mga707, that makes sense to me. I also had forgotton the RomBac 111s until you brought it up again. Might want to bring back the Fokker/DFW 614 mini-jet with the engines on top of the wings. It was cute. :wub:
