I d say that if your employed by one of the wholly owned, you might want to tune up your resume.

Of the 96 turboprops noted for United, ACA still operates 30 J41s feeding United's IAD hub. As for SkyWest, they operate a large fleet of Brasilias for United on the West Coast, though I'm not sure of the exact number.

[P]Give or take 1 or 2 due to retirements and deliveries, Skywest operates:[BR]UAX - 58 Brasilias, 27 RJs[BR]DLConn - 16 Brasilias, 48 RJs[/P]
[P]26 UAX RJs scheduled for delivery this year but only 7 UAX Brasilias scheduled for retirement. Many more RJs coming in 2004 and 2005 that currently don't have a home. Of course everything is subject to change and negotiation.[/P]
[P]Their web site says the Skywest orders look like this as of this month:[BR]"Delta Connection[BR]12 Firm Orders on Canadair 50-passenger 200 ER series, [BR]35 Options [BR]United Express[BR]53 Firm Orders on Canadair 50-passenger 200 ER series[BR]40 Locked, 29 conditional on UA operating agreement expected in late 2002[BR]84 Options"[/P]
[P]Skywest's aircraft delivery and retirement schedule as of last October is at:[BR][A href="http://www.skywest.com/r/images/delivery.pdf"]http://www.skywest.com/r/images/delivery.pdf[/A][BR]or[BR][A href="http://www.skywest.com/r/images/large_delivery.jpg"]http://www.skywest.com/r/images/large_delivery.jpg[/A][/P]

So, clearly, WSJ's figure is off the mark.

The props count for America West (11) is also incorrect.
Seems like they are only counting the Dash 8s, but not the 1900Ds operated by Air Midwest/Mesa.

United only has 96 props? Does this count Great Lakes Aviation? That seems like too few for them...

Great lakes is just a "code share" now. They have started doing flying for FRNT. I think the only UAX companies are now ACA, Sky West and Air Willy
