Perhaps you did and perhaps you were right. Belgium is essentially 3 countries with a central government. You have Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels. You also have 2 and a half languages, Wallonia = French, Brussels=Dutch & French and Flanders which is Dutch and Flemish. I said half a language because I defy anyone not born there to show me the differences between Flemish and Dutch.

Each region keeps it's own records so don't apologize so quickly. Belgians regardless of what region are fiercely protective of their culture and heritage. The internal politics is mind numbing but let there be a perceived threat from outside and most of the squabbles internally get forgotten.

Some of the tenets and principles of Sharia and other legal doctrines have allowed residents of this country to be found not guilty of murder or "honor Killing" There was a case of some note in NJ. Let me see if I can find it and report back.

I find the whole "but in my culture I'd be found not guilty" as a criminal defense tactic to be offensive. Not surprising though given the world in which we live.

Not to argue on this one but lets look at why separation of church and state is a necessity and an obligation.

Sharia or any type of religious law can not justify murder. In the eyes of the government murder is murder. If someone is found not guilty for murder for any reason, one must find the underlying reason. I can find unlimited reasons for justifiable murder under Christian-Judeo laws. But it's more than 'in my culture' argument.

Let's parse this some more since you seem to be hung up on useless minutia. for starters she was NOT wearing a Burka. From the article,

Did you research the Vlaams Belang? Do you know why young An-Sofie posed for the party? Here is what she had to say, "The campaign fits in perfectly with how I feel about the whole issue. As women, we must choose: freedom or Islam."

Being of Flemish ancestry whose ancestors came from Antwerp, I'm pretty familiar with the Vlaams Belang whose ultimate goal is a Flemish Free State. Additionally the Vlaams Belang (Flemish Interest) advocates strict immigration limits and believes new arrivals to the country should adopt the Flemish language and culture. Not unlike many Tea Party Members here.

I don't have to! IF and I stress IF you had the common sense that God gave an ant you'd know that the Daily Mail was cited in the Article. Since you clearly have yet to read the article from The Blaze, consider the following sentence from the article I linked. NOTE: Bolding is mine. As is color.

The topic at hand is the conflict between laws based upon judeo-Christian tenets and legal doctrine versus those of Islamic or Sharia Law. Yours is a straw man argument because as a nation we are founded upon the teachings of the Old and New Testament which includes Jewish Law.

As I have posted and pointed out the issue is coming to a head in Europe with the rise of the Vlaams Belang and now German Chancellor Merkle speaking out. While still a smaller issue here it is growing. Simply put Christianity gives us Liberty, Sharia gives us Slavery.

What could possibly be more important than to define who we are as a nation> Official Language=English, Learn it, love it. Ut's the only one Government forms should be printed in. If it was good enough for the millions who cam through Ellis Island, it's good enough of the current wave of Somali, Hmong and Hispanics. Secondly, we are a sovereign nation and our laws will be followed based upon the morals, values and ethics of those who wrote them. Don't like? Have fun in the sand. unhappy with the laws of this nation? Watch the door, don't let it hit you where the good lord split ya.

With the current situation they call it the "American Dream" because you have to be asleep to believe it.
