DL not playing fair?

and why should DL not be interested in what takes place anywhere in the US?

and it still comes down to the fact that there is no investigation and the residents of Paulding County by themselves will kill the idea just as they have repeatedly expressed in the past that they want no commercial service in their backyard.

even if they did, Paulding County is not more convenient to 95% of the people and wealth in the Metro Atlanta area compared to ATL.

Translation

Unlike AA who files public requests to deal with issues DL hires a secret law firm to prevent a secondary airport

aA files for HND authority through a public process

DL slams AA/us merger to the DOJ that eventually became public

To different ethical approaches to advocating the AA way in public or the secrecy of hiding your real intentions of DL

DL's comments are just as public as AA's. Route cases are ALWAYS a public process.

AA's negotiations with the DOJ regarding the carveup of DAL were not subject to public knowledge before the DOJ made its decision.

you really should seek help for this chip you constantly have to carry on your shoulder.

WT quoted this on another thread "DL preserves the right it has to serve any airport in the US".

But, shall another airline want to start service a couple of counties away from a DL hub, that shall be prohibitied....

the hyperbole is touching but it is nowhere near reality.

DL can't prohibit any other airline company from doing anything.

DL, however, can voice its belief that opening another airport is not in the best interest of the metro Atlanta community.

that is all DL did, there is no DOT investigation, and the community has said they don't want the airport.

keep beating your drum if it makes you feel better... the chances of commercial service at Paulding county airport are slim to none and even if it did happen, the location is highly unfavorable to be attractive to much of the metro Atlanta area.

Are you sure about that?

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The U.S. Department of Transportation said on Tuesday it is looking into a complaint that Delta Airlines Inc used "unfair and deceptive practices" to block development of a second major airport near Atlanta.

looking into doesn't mean a formal investigation.

Forbes said (see previous citation) that DL and Paulding County each asked for the other to be investigated. The DOT said there is no formal investigation of anyone

Spin away, looking into it, means they are investigating it.

Just semantics on words, it might not be an official full blown investigation, but someone at the DOT is looking into it.

how about you reread this post and the article that I cited before you make charges about spinning.

....

btw, the DOT says they are not investigating anyone but are instead just looking at facts.

“A number of entities have raised questions and concerns about the possible commercialization of Paulding, and we are looking into those questions and concerns,” DOT spokesman Brian Farber said Friday, in a prepared statement. “We are not focusing on any particular entity. We are simply trying to assess the facts.”

it also appears that DL has asked the DOT to investigate Paulding County.

"Delta has long opposed a proposal by developer Propeller Investments and the Paulding County commission to develop Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport, a general aviation airport, for commercial aviation. The county and the airline have each asked the Transportation Department to investigate the other."

“The proposal is a waste of taxpayer dollars, violates the city’s restrictions on the land, and would siphon off increasingly scarce federal funding that’s more needed at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport,” Delta said, in a prepared statement.

“It’s also an attempt to subvert the will of the electorate in Paulding County, who overwhelmingly voted out proponents of commercializing this general aviation airport in recent county elections,” the airline said..

further
"In a recent letter to DOT Secretary Anthony Foxx, three electees to the Paulding County Commission say they expect that when they take office in January, they will comprise a majority of the five-member board, and they would oppose the effort to create an alternate airport."
