Fleet Negotiations

check the IAM webcite , looks like their meeting soon , that's about as much infomation as any of us know , they've become very tight lipped lately .

They are always "Meeting", but nothing but a "Meeting" set for a later date ever comes out of it. How long have they been dragging these talks out already???

My understanding is that next week the IAM will meet with the company to give a proposal.
However if anyone really expects anything short of an 11th hour agreement sometime right before the arbitration hearing is fooling themselves. Even than we might not have anything.

Don't get your hopes up or expect anything anytime soon....

The company is on duck and hide routine while the union seems in no hurry to even nudge the company even just a bit at all....

In my opinion, nothing will even remotely begin to happen until the middle of Sept. just before the arbitration...even then things will just be more of the same old B.S. from the company and the union.....

Here's the 2 likely scenarios:

We win arbitration----the company runs to court to appeal ( they have already disclosed this stall tactic)

If we get some kind of agreement by giving up the arbitration ( and losing thousands per employee) The union already disclosed the fact that we will be voting on whatever they bring back (good or bad) and that will delay any agreement from actually taking affect for several more months....and to make matters worse the chances of getting anything respectful in the way of an agreement from this management is slim to none.....we are already being groomed in our station to not expect much in this agreement by the union..and once we do vote...and we all know that it will pass....no matter how many people say they didn't vote for it.....the union will be off the hook saying we voted on and passed it as a group....

Sorry to sound so negative, but the facts are the facts and this is likely how this thing is going to pan out...and that's if they don't announce a merger with UA in the interim, which we all know what happens then......

The retiree's are the first to get the vote in the mail. Anyone who doesn't vote will be counted as a "for" vote. Members who don't update their address will not get a vote in the mail to phone in. Members will get the "vote" proxy to phone in after it is counted.

Just some good things that come with ratification by vote.
Then at least they can say they put it out to the membership.

In person Lodge votes are the best and can be monitered by the membership. Phone in with pin numbers are the worst.

Still equates to nothing but the company saving how many more thousands of our money...

Like I said stall, duck and hide..this management is better at screwing its employees then running the airline....

They could come out with a buck an hour raise and nothing else and it will get voted in by a large margin. We are as weak as a membership can get and the company knows it. No patience, no gains! This group is a joke! And the IAM keeps getting union dues. Again what a joke!

Retirees are not eligble to vote, they are not covered under the CBA.

NO retirees ever vote on a CBA.

And if you dont vote it is not counted.

Only ballots cast are counted, there are no mail ballots on a CBA, you have to show up to vote.

The results are a simple majority, which ever has more votes is the tally.

There are no procedures in the IAM Constitution for anything else except voting in person.

No phone votes are allowed nor absentee ballots.
