My understanding is that next week the IAM will meet with the company to give a proposal.
However if anyone really expects anything short of an 11th hour agreement sometime right before the arbitration hearing is fooling themselves. Even than we might not have anything.
Still equates to nothing but the company saving how many more thousands of our money...The retiree's are the first to get the vote in the mail. Anyone who doesn't vote will be counted as a "for" vote. Members who don't update their address will not get a vote in the mail to phone in. Members will get the "vote" proxy to phone in after it is counted.
Just some good things that come with ratification by vote.
Then at least they can say they put it out to the membership.
In person Lodge votes are the best and can be monitered by the membership. Phone in with pin numbers are the worst.
Lets say the union brings back a CBA extension. My understanding is that we have to vote on it. Since the AWA are not now covered by our contract, will they get to vote? No, only active employees under the CBA.
They could come out with a buck an hour raise and nothing else and it will get voted in by a large margin. We are as weak as a membership can get and the company knows it. No patience, no gains! This group is a joke! And the IAM keeps getting union dues. Again what a joke!
