" People need to Work LONGER Hours " : Jeb Bush !

Dell said all of those things cited were because of government regulations.  If government regulations made CEO pay skyrocket, then hell maybe we should deregulate.

Interesting that the year was 1978 on that poster.  Back then, pretty much every airline employees pay was regulated by the government.  Back then - a person working for an airline was envied....good pay, free flights...living was good.  Then they deregulated.  Fortunately, that was almost 40 years ago, so anyone who remembers those days is most likely retired.  Folks like you almost have the airline industry back to "yassah boss" days.

Funny, no mention of CEO pay in that blurb....

In many cases - yes.  It's regulated by "the owners of the company"....the shareholders.  YOU know, the sheep who believed the republicans and eliminated pensions and instead are now "investors" in their retirement....the awesome 401K.  A plan where the employee puts up 100% of the money, takes 100% of the risk, and reaps 30% of the rewards.  And since they are now "owners of the company", they are willing to take less in pay and allow jobs to be cut in the name of "shareholder value".  Because in the long term, they think they are going to be living like kings when they retire.   So yes...shareholders in companies are regulating the pay of many many people.  And while they are "owners of the company"....only about 1% of them actually vote their shares....they let the good old boy network vote FOR CEO increases.

401K's kind of remind me of the old movie Soylent Green...

no..... and Im not sure what that has to do with anything.  My co-workers do not determine my pay.  BOD's usually will determine pay and benefits for CEO's.  How many CEO's and former CEO's are on BOD's of other companies?  How many CEO's have received obscene salaries and bonus for running a company into the ground?
