Never heard the argument (at least not a supported argument) that Rome and Greece fell because of a transition to personal pleasure.  The best argument i have read is that Rome and Greece fell because the empire spread beond it's ability to coltrol it's self.  There were too many factions with in the growing empire and it did not survive.

Governments don't grant rights. They are inherent in your being. The right to live as you choose is one of those rights. In this case what we have is laws restricting those inherent fundamental rights. Just like black and gays the polygamists will have to stand up and claim their rights.
