Scab Hotels Cost NWA Big $$$

One of the most interesting claims comes from two Tucson, Ariz.,
hotels. They insist Northwest owes them nearly $800,000 for rooms
and meals. This past summer, the hotels hosted hundreds of workers
that Northwest trained to replace its mechanics if they went on
strike. The mechanics did strike on Aug. 19.
"It was a tremendous amount of revenue we lost," said Roger Golden,
general manager of the Hotel Arizona. "It affected payroll and a
number of other things."

except that i have already been down that road--3 times.
two fot hem during the second bankruptcy. the first was when our city was downgraded from mainline to mainline express. the fight is not impossible if mgmt would be the ones to cooperate

No bills have come my way. When I checked in the desk asked for a credit card, I started to give it to them and then thought better of it. I told them to call NWA for one if they had to have one. They went ahead and gave me a room but wouldn't turn the phone on. Oh well my cell suits me just fine. I guess I should have said semi-retire. I am interested in making parts for the experimental market.

PTO,how are you gonna cash those NWA "HOT" checks? If I was running a bank, I know I wouldn't cash them. NWA is broke. They are using their credit cards to pay off their credit cards. The ship is going down with all hands, except for the AMFA members who grabbed all the lifeboats after the NWA "Titanic" hit the "AMFA STRIKE-bankruptcy" iceberg.

Oh my beloved Princess, how you amuse me with your ignorance of how the contract world operates. I do not work for NWA therefore I do not have to worry about their checks. I work for a contract house, it is their checks that I must be concerned with. Thus far every one of them has cleared nicely and I do mean nicely. So nice that if NWA does sink like the Titanic as you so eloquently like to put it, I have a very nice lifeboat that I can cruise home on. To be honest I do not think that is going to happen.
