We Might Be Selling Pillows And Blankets

etops1,
You don't have any affiliation with Outside The Box, Inc., do you? The company (owned by a furloughed US pilot -nee MDA pilot & US F/'A spouse) tried spinning this to the company years ago but was shot down. FWIW, dumb idea. If you can't give the customers a darn blanket and pillow on a flight why bother having a damn airline at all.

Amtrak and Greyhound don't give pillows and blankets. Why should we? Transportation is transportation. Roll your jacket or bring your own. That will eventually happen in the future I bet.

Why not sell overhead bin space too. Just turn the bins into individual numbered lockers -- like in bus and train stations -- sized for standard rollaboards, and let passengers insert $5 or so into the slot to get it to open. Bingo, a new stream of revenue, and something for people to use those "golden dollar" coins on. Of course in First and "Business" class, the bin space would be included in your ticket.

;)
