If true, please bring them to Charlotte. We deperately need some movement down here and we ain't talking the bowel type...but then we aren't talking about transatlantic.

Dear God , Let this be true !!!
I'm glad to see that someone at the top is finally seeing the light..or hopefully seeing the light.

I'm not going to start whistling zippidy do dah until the inks dried on the contacts for more 757's

Well, that jives with the recall.
I myself do not care for the 757, so, hard to get happy about it.
Good for the furloughees!

rumors running rampant. First it was an additional 7, then I heard 10, then 15 today....and tonight it's up to 20........be nice if true, but until they are on the ramp in the new colors, turning #2.....

I dont hate the 57s at all. I love the way they leap joyfully into the air even with a full plane.

The US and AW cabins could be nicer, and the tiny cramped F section is a mistake, but that can be fixed.

If you had to fix them...You'd be singing a different tune.

The 757's Performance and reliabilty is simply incredible.

I wish we had 100 of them in our fleet...and an exit clause on the A321's.

It's all about the F... the A321s have 26. That kind of cavernous F cabin is needed on transcons these days. They better put 24F in if they're going to put 75s back on transcon routes other than LAS.

Are these going to be ETOPS 757s? If so, are we talking South American expansion? PHL-ANC? More thin European routes? How far can the 757 get into Europe from PHL? Or BOS-LGW?

That would be great news if it comes true. Please put one on the CLT-MIA run! With all these packed flights and huge amounts of luggage everyone brings to go on a cruise these 737's are not big enough.

Doesn't this all dovetail nicely with the press announcement that US is refinancing its Debt??

Perhaps to make room for more planes? Which might also mean GE is leasing the new/used 757's?

Which could also mean GE doesn't have a lot of confidence that NW and/or DL will make it our of BK?

Performing loans a crap rates are better than getting stuck with a bunch of old metal.

Bob,

Not to pooh pooh your theory on GE's level of confidence with NW and DL...but lets hope this doesn't involve 757's from either of them.

The P&W powered 757's that NW and DL have would be a poor mix into our combined US/HP fleet , which would in turn drive up costs in terms of Inventory as well as Training at both the Flight-Crew and Maintenance departments.

US/HP have both enjoyed excellent service over the years with the RB211-535E4's..and I hope we never deviate from a prooven course for immediate gratification with long term pit-falls and protracted costs coming from it.

Considering the landing fees at MIA, you are lucky you see 400's and not all 300's!

I think that Port Everglades is busier these days than Miami, which is why FLL see's everything but the widebodies.

If anything they are needed out west for the expanding Hawaii service we can't keep our old 20+ year old planes in the air they are falling apart. and the delays keep coming. we need the spare planes. I hope they are newer a/c so they can use the older planes for other flights.

Sitting in a 757 coach seat for five hours is a miserable experience, second only to a 737 coach seat transcon.

I'll take a 321 coach seat any day.
