375 openings for f/a's in phl for june

rumour has it US west and east training departments are ramping up (for pilots) a substantial recall. Lets keep our fingers crossed

ok guys . i was just informed by my source that part of the announcement is slated to go out tomorrow . it has been very frustrating because the company is coming out with this stuff in drips . once again please be patient . the rest of the announcement will be made on monday. there are some issues that need to be worked out. i really want to tell you guys . beleive me i do . but if i do . people can get in to trouble and these people are good people . please understand my position here.

While your position to keep your "source" (credible or not) out of trouble, I find it very odd this entire thread was started to begin with. What you "know", but cannot and will not share. Then invite only those you personally know to PM you for the info; then say anyone can PM you for info, to now this announcement is coming out, and you desperately want to let us know but can't is completely uncalled for. Why start something you cannot finish? I've learned the importance of patience, but this tease isn't necessary.

Yes, I will be the first in line to hear some good news about the company. While I am still an East furlough in the top 200, I wait for my start date at AWA on April 3. I expected a recall to East while at AWA, which will only benefit me once we're integrated (old US seniority will go in effect here in PHX and I get off the bottom of the seniority list). Something has to be up, AWA has cattle call on Wednesday 3/15...I thought East invols had to have two chances before that was to happen??

The company wants to be rid of the furlough list. They will call back 450-600 people, see who bites and go from there. It makes no sense that West will hire off the street while East still has people on furlough...regardless of the stipulations we had to endure to come to AWA, they really can't afford to go forward with almost 1700 furloughs. What was it like 200 or so that went to MDA and 70 to AWA. Many people have just moved on; the only way to see if people are coming back or not is to do a substantial recall. I could be totally off base here, but since we don't know, I'll throw my hat into the speculation ring! No offense to you etops1, I am sure your intentions were nothing but the best, but next time try and handle it a different way.

I agree with that ... Even though I'm like 1100, in reality I'm more like 400 ... at the most. If they do a total recall, then they should be able to weed out who's left, by 2 notifications right?

For West training they sent 1700 (whatever the invol amt is) and 350 replied. that's not alot abd yet they HAVE to keep them on mainline seniority lists.

NOW with the East calling back, they'll sent out the same amount of letters for 2 recalls and then they'll adjust the list accordingly.

However, I still won't know if I'll get back to the East! 😱

Under our East contract every time there is a recall you may PASS until they reach the end of the list and no more JR people are availible under you. Then it goes in inverse order and you either come back or are taken off the list. Also, if they need 200 recalls for example and they go half way through the list and 6 months later they need another 200, they start at the top of the list again and work down.

Yea, well they needed 200 for West and sent letters to ALL invols. In the end only 350 replied and 70 are going.

I'm sure they will do it again for this east thing, especially if it's with the numbers they're *speculating* here on this thread. For instance, if they need 350, they're not going to notify 350 on the list or even 600, I think they'll go through the whole thing.

What I'm saying is I don't think that there is that many left that will actually *come back* after all this time.

a little tease never hurt anyone. anyway you seem to hit it right on the nail. i just got a e-mail from ron cole basically confirming this announcement on monday. a lot of good things are happening guys. i am sorry if i made alot of people wait . your right maybe i should have taken another approach . but really all i posted was that there were 375 openings in phl. that's it. yes i know the reason why and so do many of you . lets just say i am looking foward to working with many of my separated co-workers in the near future. once again sorry if i pissed anyone off. that was truly not my intention. to have a little ufn with you guys yes. to piss anyone off. definately not.

I may be wrong about this, but I was under the impression that the Invol List was closer to around 1900 names. My place on that list is much closer to the bottom (around 1775-1800)...so if approximately 400 F/A's are needed for June, I have a feeling I may not be able to hold a position this time around...might just have to wait until November for the 190's to arrive. I hope not though, as I'd like to return sooner than later, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see... :unsure:

I may be wrong about this, but I was under the impression that the Invol List was closer to around 1900 names. My place on that list is much closer to the bottom (around 1775-1800)...so if approximately 400 F/A's are needed for June, I have a feeling I may not be able to hold a position this time around...might just have to wait until November for the 190's to arrive. I hope not though, as I'd like to return sooner than later, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see... :unsure:

Slow down everyone. I hope all these fabulous recall rumors and growth are true, but the bottom line is that all the seasonal flying is driving the number of opennings. This happens every year. We have just never had an additional 3 aircraft added at one time. Yes, there could be added service and there may be a reduction in PIT. I don't know. But I don't think this is worth 12 pages of over excitement. I will be MORE than happy to be wrong on this one.

Meanwhile, I am hearing that the E-190's will be based in CLT. God knows we need the time..The first ones will be on the propert in Nov.

There is also an aritcle in, I believe Forbes, that talks about US International growth for 2007 and 2008. That has nothing to do with now though. It is in the "news" section on Aviation. Growth is probably part of this game.
