I couldn't help but notice that this "credible source" is the one who started the thread in the first place. So,now we have to wait until Monday and he has enjoyed over 24 hours of making us squirm. I wonder how self important that would make a person feel.

As I said in an earlier post, once again the company has put the cart before the horse announcing transfers before giving a reason why. I think Etops is in that cart too.

I for one won't be logging on for the rest of the weekend to see if another carrot is dangled...what will be will be. :bleh:

Displacement is nothing new thats a fact.....


even with the >100 vflr's and new flying

375 openings to phl

now those numbers dont add up

why????

a) phl has an abundance of reserves

B) the new flying is 757 and return of seasonal flying
it was anticipated
c) e-190 not yet online and if it early still has training
and other operational issues.

so......

with a displacement,recall, base adjustments,and anything else they come up with........

it generally means

SOME BIG THING ON HORIZON

what it is, anyones guess, but i'm betting on more a/c and yet another growth spurt.......but if it is it will have to be announced soon, to prepare to sell the flights.

the BAD is if they displace and bump, not absorb, those that get bumped would be their second displacement and second company paid move.

I didn't spill any beans guy! Sorry but am I the only one that knows we are flying to Europe???. I just read all these pages of guessing games and it was obvious what you were talking about E TOPS. It just made sense. I don't know what the big deal is. If I were you ETOPS if you supposedly find out information before everyone I would chill out instead of getting everyones hopes up. This is exactly how rumors get started and most of time it just brings disappointment! Its evident that there is something more to this than what I just said.

hp jack . i have said nothing . all i said was that there was something fishy about 375 openings in phl. everyone else can speculate all they want. i am not the only one who knows whats up trust me. it just can't be said until tempe decides to announce it. and from my point of view , it's not dissapointing news at all. (well maybe 3% of it is to some). this thread is actually a good one . it takes us away form all the iam mumbo jumbo that's going on and helps us look foward to more positive things that are happening around our company. i am sorry if you "feel that i am dangling a carrot" but i just can't say anyhting until its confirmed. is this a rumor? yes . but a positive one at that. until tempe announces it, then it's a rumor. but it will only be a rumor for a very short time.

Then why are you saying that I "spilt the beans" I've only reiterated what others have said previously on here. If there is going to be a big announcement thats great news! I welcome it! It will definitley be a great change of pace around here. But all this " I know but can't tell" stuff is childish. Like I said it just gets people speculating and thats how rumors get started that may differ from what is actually is going on. You remind me of that kid on school who is always raising there hand "teacher, teacher, I know, I know".

I fail to understand why ETOPS can't just say, "its X", and get this over with. Maybe ETOPS is scared that there is no big announcement and he/she will look silly if they say what their rumor is?

I'll start one. The headquarters is moving from Tempe to Philadelphia and we need lots of flight attendants to staff new 747s that will shuttle all the folks moving between the two.

Anyone should be able to read between the lines on this one.....They reduced the open time for all bases by 3 percent for April.....my guess is that they are going to further reduce the open time for the summer months starting with just one base (PHL) to see if it will work out OK. All of this coupled with the additional Transatlantic flying out of PHL will create openings....meaning more blocks being built=the need for more reserves. There are no more additional A/C coming at the last minute and no more new T/A destinations either at the last minute. PHL is a large base with all types of flying so it could be a test base to see if open time could be a thing of the past! So creating more blocks will make many happy and at the same time having less time for trip improving off the bid sheet will make many unhappy too!
