What's new

62% of Americans believe abortion morally wrong

For a numbers guy you sure dont get it.

Lets see the BC issue just happened last year, so what happened from 1973 till 2013?

I mean one year under the new mandate that the Supreme Court led by Republican John Roberts, Chief Justice who ruled the AHCA is legal under the COTUS.

But you know more SCOTUS right?

No one is saying obamacare isn't legal more that it is a pos bill that is costing millions their insurance or doubling the cost of it
not to mention the lies and crap they pulled to get it passed.

You tell me. Seems to me that women have had no problem using birth control from the chart.

Why exactly was it necessary to force it into every insurance policy?

If ED medicine is covered, why shouldnt BC?

Seeing that birth control is effective and the conservative right professes to care for life and not want women to get abortions (by rule of law) I would think that conservstives would be all over getting birthcontrol (wbich is a whole lot cheaper than abortions, prenatal care, welfare...) to help reduce unwanted pregnanacies. So my question is why the hell not have birth control beincluded with health insurance?

I guess all that talk from the right about caring for the unborn is just that. Talk.

Might have something to do with the fact that there are more men in charge of things than women. Just more male bias in the system.

You're confusing support for birth control use with the need for everyone to pay for someone else's use of it.

Without insurance, it's a $4/month prescription. If it weren't covered by insurance, you'd probably see the retail price fall even more, since costs for drugs covered by insurance almost always a significant markup.

So far, you've failed to convince me that $50/year is so far out of reach for women who choose to be sexually active and don't want to have children that they'd risk getting pregnant versus paying for their own BCP's.

If you want to have Medicaid cover it for the truly impoverished, fine, but I'd guess that the likes of Sandra Fluke spend more on shoes and clothing in a month than what a year's supply of a generic BCP would cost.

Birth control varies in price. When my wife was on it hers ran a little under $100 a month. Not sure if it istypical or not.

The point I am making is that if the goal of the conservatives is to reduce the number of unwantedpregnancies and as a result abortions I would think that making birth control available to everyone at little or no cost along with sex ed Iin schools would be a no brainer. It would certainly be less expensive that the costs passed along to the state to raise the child for parents who are unable to afford them.

I have yet to see any conservative program to help prevent pregnancies. Only programs to prevent their termination. Seems very short sighted and self defeating.

Because sex is evil if you aren't getting any.

$100/month is probably the price insurance pays...

And yes, there has been a conservative program for over 2000 years -- it's called "keep your pants on" and has had varying degrees of success over time.

And I stand corrected on the price - it's $9/month at Walmart or Target for generics. We spend more than that on Netflix.

The $100 was what she paid, insurance did not cover it. Thats why we are talking about it.

So basically conservatives do not have a program. Abstinence works about as well as just say no does for everything. It does not work. Sex drive is genetic snd hard wired. Sex is physically and emotionally satisfying. Thats why people do it over and over and over. Palin, her daughter and her son are perfect examples of the failures of abstinence.

Not all birth control works the same. Not a one size fits all.
