$70 Oil Business Plan

Build?

That would take years, and there are so many EPA regs it would take years just to clear the red tape.

Does that include the "Greed is going to kill us" comment, USA320Pilot ?

Greed takes many forms. How do feel about selling out pilots beneath you to protect your own job? Does that qualify as greed? When is now a good time to look in the mirror?

To maintain complete integrity and accuracy you must fracture the syntax thusly: "When would now be a good time to look in the mirror?" 😉

Thanks, I was an average English student at best, though I'm not sure either would make it past any of my teachers.

Congress has the ability to waive the EPA
requirements on a temporary basis during
a national emergency. They need to act
quickly, though. Now is as good a time as
any to relax EPA regulations to allow
new refineries to be built.

Congress needs to give the oil companies
every opportunity to fix the capacity
problem in this country, and if the oil
companies fail to act, then it will show their
enourmous greed to the rest of the world.

Guess you never heard of State's Rights.

You seem to revel in the fact that we as
American consumers are getting ripped off
at the pump. Are you heavily invested in
oil futures, or oil company stocks?

The situation that exists right now with
supposed oil shortages and refinery
capacity shortages is killing the airlines,
as well as the average consumer. With
your crazy liberal slant, one would think
that this would pizz you off.

I have to agree with you 320.

Nope I have no stocks in oil companies, after four paycuts I can't afford it.

And when you realize there is nothing you can about except push conservation you will have an eye opener.

And I am not a liberal and I am not a conservative I am middle of the road.

Well, I guess the average American really
doesn't care, or understand that they are
being taken for a ride. I for one, refuse to
accept this crap. My livelihood and my
bank account are both in jeopardy and
I'm mad as He11.

I hope everyone who is retained by the
"new" US Airways understands the
ramifications of $70 oil and $2.25 jet fuel,
because it will eventually kill the new company
in two ways. For one, it will increase costs
to an unmanageable level, and secondly,
the average consumer will have a lot less
discretionary income to spend on airline
tickets if they have to pay higher gas bills.
Not to mention the potential increase in
the cost of goods and services that
depend on transportation to get them to
their favorite store. Also, the cost of
heating oil will be astronomical this winter
as will the cost of electricity that is produced
with oil and natural gas.

Can we say "recession" kids? It's coming
unless Congress acts to tame the oil
industry.

Well, the silence is deafening. I guess I
was right that most people really don't
care when they are being taken advantage
of. Maybe I'll start a little pyramid scheme
and make millions off of the 30% of
Americans who really don't know any
better.

I hope for the sake of US Airways and
the employees that our government steps
in to fix the artificial oil problem that
is only bound to get worse.

Well, well. The sins of the oil industry are
in the early stages of coming home to roost.
The major media is finally picking up on the
deception and gouging that has been going
on for the past year or so. On The O'Reilly
Factor on Fox tonight, Bill O'relliy absolutely
embarrassed an oil company spokesman
who could only come up with one analogy
to define the cost of oil.

Bill pointed out the TRILLION dollar
profits (money left AFTER expenses) and
the glaring irresponsibility of the oil
companies in their failure to reinvest some
of those profits in oil exploration and
refinery capacity. He also pointed out that
it costs Saudi Arabia $4.00 per bbl to get
oil out of the ground, and that there can't
possibly be a $66 premium in the cost of
packaging and transporting that same oil
to the American refiners.

The oil company spokesman responded
with the following: "Other products cost
a lot more on a per gallon basis. Scope
mouthwash is $9.98 per gallon in real
dollars".

What this dumb ### failed to get is that
there is nobody in the U.S who uses
more than 4 ounces of Scope in a single day,
yet most Americans use between 1 and 3
gallons of gas in an average day.

Folks, we are being had by the oil companies,
and it's time for the American people to
demand that they do the right thing and
reduce the cost of oil and gasoline.

Maybe the Saudi's should follow the pricing example of our friends to the north & south - Canada & Mexico - or even our allies across the pond - England.....
