757 Corrosion

it is so easy to blame the Company, the Union for the demise of MCI. Do not blame the dereulation act of 1979 and the late Senator Kennedy for the beginning of the slippery slope, don't blame the failings of Eatern, Pan Am, Braniff et al, don't blame the 9/11 tragedy, and certainly don't blame the economic fiasco that has been going on for how long? The bitterness displayed on this site is truly sad. Since 1979 many have had to move to stay in this business, many took layoffs and either went with other aviation businesses or when a new career path. There aren't any chains and shackles on your legs foricng you to stay at a place many of you dislike. You certainly were not dragged off the street kicking and screaming and forced to work at any airline. What is so great about this country is you have a free will to live and work where you please. If things don't please you, try something else besides bitching..............
Well observer did you not get that they closed MCI then less than a year later they farm out the work. Man pull your head out of yor aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Just curious, the 757s that are goiung to ROW are they being parked or is it for farmed out maitenance? I think there are three sitting in ROW now.

MCI closed because of economics period. The history of farming out work is well documented. Wrencher you can't see the forest because of the trees.

The KC people, obviously, didn't like moving because AA closed their home - understandable and I would probably be madder than hell if I were in your place - I'm madder than hell anyway but that's neither here nor there.

Bottom line - AA will not re-open MCI. To do so would be against their business plan (assuming there is one), and would be an admission on their part closing the station was something they shouldn't have done - the Centrepork infestation, unable to make mistakes (per their egos), certainly wouldn't go along with that.

MCI is gone and will not be reopened. Sorry. Too bad. Get over it.

Look at it this way - if it were reopened, that would be another station to be used in Centrepork's never-ending chess game with the mechanics/employees, along with DWH, AFW, and TULE re: making poor business decisions to "show" their dissatisfied employees how serious they are about screwing us over. In that regard, Centrepork shot itself in the foot.
