Does anyone know if they have been installed on the jet leased to APB yet? Did AA do the MOD? Most importantly, does anyone have any pics?

From what I’ve been told, the A/C has not been modified with winglets yet. The A/C is in the process of being modified with the avionics to do fuel burn tests without winglets for now.

Thanks, do you know if AA is installing the winglets when they are ready for them?

I was told it was going to be in house but I don’t remember which base it was.

<_< -------- The Aircraft in question is currently setting in Dock 12, here at MCI. Boeing Partners are installing numerous senors, and will be flying the Aircraft to establish a "base line" to document stress assessment "before" installing the winglets. Then we'll be installing them here, and than more tests, before they can sell the Mod. to FAA!

The 767-300 will look sweet with the winglets. I wonder if the 777 will be next???

No the 777 will not have winglets. According to Boeing the 777 was designed with a raked wing design. This design is just as effective or more efficient than winglets. Winglets are pretty much an after thought from the original wing design. It is more cost effective to add winglets to an existing wing than to redesign a whole new wing. MD-11 is one example. The same wing as a DC-10 but with added winglets for improved performance. The G-2 corporate jet originally had no winglets. Then many were retrofitted with them and subsequent models followed such as the G-3, G-4 and so on.

I heard that the winglets were delivered to MCI. Any pics yet?

<_< -------- Winglets have been installed on the Aircraft. Partners are doing vibration testing, in the bay as of today. The aircraft looks awesome with it's eleven foot winglets! Sorry no pictures yet! They were installed here at MCI by exTWA mechanics! (Sorry, I had to do it!) 🙄 The Aircraft, when ready, will fly as "Experimental" until further tests have been made. The winglets will then come off. Flown commercially until all data is annualized and the S.T.C. is sold to F.A.A. At least that's the game plan as it was told to me. At that point, I've been told that we'll have at least two lines of 767 winglet mods going here. Along with the rest of the 757's. I wouldn't be surprised if TUL would pick up at least a couple of lines also! AA wants these winglet's badly!!!
