I thought that would get you Bush haters attention.
Latest poll says only 13% blame Bush for the releif fiasco. The rest of the blame goes to Gov Blanco and what's his name mayor of MSY.
I think the major should have had every school and city bus availible to evacuate the citizens. The Gov should have opened every school gym 100 miles or more from MSY for refugees. Save the people first then get supplies from local stores. Then sort out the details after the people were safe.
Remember the fed couldn't come in until specficaly asked by the gov which came late.

This poll brought to you by our good friends at Rove, Hughes and assoc.

Not so, my friend:

The Bush Administration published a National Response Plan for responding to catastrophic incidents, including natural disasters, in December 2004. The plan explicitly states that the federal government can override notification and request for assistance regulations in order to expedite assistance, and that “the coordination process must not delay or impede the rapid deployment and use of critical resources.â€￾

And, to what poll are you referring? While the Washington Post/ABC News poll found that 46 percent of respondents approve and 47 percent disapprove, that poll is being discredited for its small sample size and one-day-over-the-weekend survey, which can skew results dramatically. Regardless, nowhere near the numbers you're quoting.

But then, this isn't the proper forum for this particular discourse, now is it?

Yea they didnt know there was a storm a brewing.

But the truth is the GOV did ask the area be declaered a federal disater emergency on AUG 26. On AUG 27 the pres did send a letter to the GOV confirming that.

THe allegation that Blanco didn't request the correct thing at the right time or on the right form is a lie.

He's never told a lie, and if you leave a tooth under your pillow he will bring you a quarter.

We're here to help

All this has occured while we were all concerned about more important things such as sports, soap operas and gossip.
Go back to sleep. The government is here to help

I would say that polls taken at the Dallas Ku Klux Klan rally are not a good indicator of public sentiment.

Considering the long and intimate relationship the Lousiana Democratic party has with the Klan, that's a good point.

Are you saying that the Governor, who is a woman, and the Mayor, who is Black, have a relationship with the Klan?

Your numbers sound like a total fabrication, which is highly probable when you consider the fact that more than 93% of all statistics posted in these types of forums are simply made up.

Look at these poll numbers:

Zogby: Bush Job Approval Hits 41%—All Time Low; Would Lose to Every Modern President

Quote:
Bush Job Approval Hits 41%—All Time Low; Would Lose to Every Modern President; Public Rates All Levels of Government Poorly in Katrina Handling; Red Cross Rated Higher Than Federal Government, 69%-17% —New Zogby America Poll

President Bush’s job approval rating took a hit in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, dropping to a historic low of 41%, a new Zogby America poll reveals. The same survey found the nation’s forty-third president would lose election contests against all of his predecessors since Jimmy Carter.

The Zogby America survey of 1157 likely voters, conducted from September 6 through 7, 2005, has a margin of error of +/-2.9 percentage points.

The public rates the performance of all levels of government in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina negatively, with 36% giving the President passing marks on his handling of the crisis—slightly higher than the 32% who give government in general good marks for its handling of the storm that devastated New Orleans and much of the Gulf coast.

In another key finding, the Zogby America survey finds that 86% of likely voters assess the response of private charities favorably, and one charity, the American Red Cross, gets higher marks than the federal government, as well as state and local governments. In fact, four times as many respondents say the Red Cross did a better job than the federal government, with the charity being seen as more effective by 69% and the government’s response viewed more favorably by 17%. The Red Cross also gets better marks than Louisiana’s state and local governments, by a 72% to 10% margin...

How dumb is the 41% that actually approves of this incompetent bozo?

Just take a look at the attached picture of Dumbaya on his most recent vacation in N.O.

The governor and the mayor are proud members of the political party that supported slavery and Jim Crow, obstructed the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, elevated a former Klansman to fourth in line to the presidency and another to the US Supreme Court. Many people would find it distasteful to be a part of such an organization.
