Yesterday (Thursday, Aug 16), I found myself landing in Toronto City Centre during the first hour of the 'Blackout'. All power was out, all over Toronto. We couldn't get a hotel, we couldn't get a taxi, it was an hour before dark, and all the telephone system was in serious overload.
At the last minute, I managed to get in touch with my old buddy, T5Limit, who was sitting by his pool. He agreed to drive to Buttonville to collect us, so we flashed up the 206 and headed north.
Well, he had to use his lawnmower gas in his car to get to Buttonville, and four of us invaded his house, peed in his pool, and cleaned him out of beer and wine, and chick-pops. His candle and Tiki-Torch supply also took a good hit.
Then, this morning, still on lawnmower gas, and after drinking all his apple juice, he took us back to the airport and we blasted off back to YOW.
Thanks, Dude, you're awesome, and give the Sgt a kiss for me.
