A couple of more questions:

1. Can anyone explain how reserves are awarded trips?

2. Once a reserve has a trip can a blockholder take that trip?

3. Can a reserve be assigend to fly the "lead" positon?

4. Does CO hire "seasoned" candidates for FA?

Thanks in advance....

On reserve, you have the ability to affect your destiny somewhat during the month. Sure there will always be quick calls and reassignments, but you are allowed to pick up trips from open time, but chances are you will be bumped by a lineholder if the trip is popular or productive. Reserves who pick up trips that depart before 11am, cannot be bumped by another FA, only Scheduling can reassign. Yes, reserves are assigned the lead position frequently. Get to know it well. We bid lines and positions at CAL. When positions on a pairing are open, changes can be made at check-in. Reserves can only be senior opted(switched to another work position) once on a trip pairing. Yes CAL does hire older people to be FA's.

When you pick up a trip and are not bumped - does this decrease the times you'll be called? (it counts towards your hours, so it seems logical)

Also, regarding the days off, how common is it for the 5 'moveable' days off to be moved?

Thanks!
