Nice shots PHL Approach, thanks for posting so quickly. Was not expecting the fake wood in Envoy. And one question, in the 10th photo is the L2 door between last row of envoy and that galley or is it a little further back?

Thanks Again

You're right about the fake wood. It looks like somebody's basement on Long Island from the 1970's. I hope there's a larger scheme to it all that is not quite apparent.

Great pics !

Plane looks amazing, especially the IFE. Definately a upgrade over the older ones.

can't wait ti fly to SJU on this one !

You seem to frequently come through with good reasons to stick with US Airways. Thanks for the effort in getting these pictures. Can't wait until the new Envoy pods are available. Hope these 2 332s (where is 280AY?) stay in that pristine condition for TLV and don't get all marked up by the SJU crowd.
Ahh excuse me, Boricua here!! Wtf is that supposed to mean???

Nice plane minus the 1970's wood paneling in Envoy. It might work in a super luxurious first class on a premium airline like Singapore or Emirates but not here. And i would have thought they would at least spring for winged headrests in coach like every other airline on the planet has in their newer widebody jets. They look like the exact same seats as on the new narowbody airbus deliveries, so i am guessing that these are the seats they are going to install in the a330-300's as well?

The Envoy seats that are in the pictures posted are temporary. There was a delay with the vendor that prohibited the installation of the new pod seats before entering into revenue service. The seats that will be installed are a HUGE improvement over what is offered currently in Envoy on the 757, A330-300 or those terrible seats offered on the 767. Maybe my post can be critiqued by a certain someone since I'm a third grade grammar level.

No need to turn a compliment into a negative - this Forum is not restricted/directed to discussions about US Airways employees. My comment relates to the passengers not the crew. I've flown this route many times and my observation is that it appears to have a higher % of leisure, somewhat disorderly passengers, than other over-water destinations I frequent. Your prerogative of course is to have a different opinion.

Two coments to add, I have the feeling the fake wood in Envoy has something to do with the new pod seats, and hopefully we will see the method in their madness once we see the third aircraft with the new Envoy pod seats.

On a brighter note 279 actually did a PHL-SJU r/t today Thur 6-11, congrats to PHL for getting it out only 2 mins late, really good for 1071 and for SJU for getting the new bird out 2 mins early. It's showing doing 1071/1024 every day for a few weeks.

Great Scott Batboy! Look who took the plane out for it's first revenue spin! Bajababe  I wonder it she bought a bottle of Tequila at duty free and smashed it over the Envoy seats!

Baja is it true the First Class cabin is jacked out of the Panasonic system? They have to use the touch screen ones from the 767/757 on batteries? Just a rumor but wondering what it was like today!

I'll be honest...i'm not digging the faux wood paneling in Envoy...and where are these "pod" seats for Envoy somebody mentioned, i haven't heard about these before. Should be nice, though.

I believe I read somewhere that the new 332 was going to utilize the removable TV's ala 767/757 until the new seats were installed and hooked up to the Panasonic system. I wouldn't call it "jacked out"; the new seats were delayed. Why hook up the old Envoy seats to the system, only to rip them out months later?

The pictures earlier in this thread show seatback monitors in both Envoy and coach but admittedly that doesn't mean they're hooked up.

I guess I'm the only one that likes the Wood Paneling. When I turned the corner at the 1L door and saw it. I was instantly reminded of someones private BBJ. As for someone referring to it as the fake 1970s panelling. The two cannot even be compared. I use to have that crap in the basement of my last house. A little more fine grain than this but close enough http://www.irememberjfk.com/mt/graphics/paneling.jpg

I think the stuff in the aircraft has a great finish. Looks clean and gives off a warm feeling to the cabin.

Good to hear. Thanks for sharing the pictures. You didn't think for one minute that people on here wouldn't be able to find something to hate, did you?
