We did have a rather uneventful launch. Great Crew we had 4 specialist in board and then others who just wanted to make sure we had the necessary items. The entertainment system in the coach class is great. The screens are big and bright . It is a little wierd to just have one bath room by the 4 r door but all in all the pax in Envoy wil eventually have great seats.Hope you all have a chance to see the airplane

I guess I'm the only one that likes the Wood Paneling. When I turned the corner at the 1L door and saw it. I was instantly reminded of someones private BBJ. As for someone referring to it as the fake 1970s panelling. The two cannot even be compared. I use to have that crap in the basement of my last house. A little more fine grain than this but close enough http://www.irememberjfk.com/mt/graphics/paneling.jpg

I think the stuff in the aircraft has a great finish. Looks clean and gives off a warm feeling to the cabin.

Agreed. The moving map is awesome too!

Is the longer term plan to retrofit the 333's with these new pod seats?

Let me cast my vote in favor of the wood paneling. I liked it in the BA and QF first class cabins (where the pods are also part of the overall decor), so I'm thinking along the lines that the new seats will be part of the overall cabin decor.

It is in the plans to retrofit the A330-300's with the same new Envoy seats and also to replace all of the coach seats with the newer style slimmer seats also. The seats in coach will be modified when the new Panasonic Video System is added to the 300's....as far as the time frame to get done it was originally going to start winter 2010?? Anybody else know??

Re the moving map so does the new bird have "Airshow" or some other moving map as part of the new IFE?

Thanks

Nice big map at the front of Envoy with a red line on it showing where you are and where you've been. Very cool.

I was on an Air Canada A320 and they had that on the IFE, its pretty cool as does World's MD11s.

Glad US finally has airshow (whichsaw on LH or SK back in '92 or so). Over at a.net, there are intertior pics: http://www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/g...d.main/4445822/
don't miss the comments: a lot of them are like this: Sorry to say but the EnvoyWow, can't get over how 'cheap' that wood grain looks on the Envoy dividers and panels and Wow, can't get over how 'cheap' that wood grain looks on the Envoy dividers and panels.

Instructors in training said the second aircraft would be here sometime next week. I also heard that the delay in seats was the manufacturer and NOT usairways. It will still be 20 seats in Envoy with the new pods but a different configuration. My guess is on an angle as seems popular and the norm today on many other carriers.

Seriously, think about this, the planes have been ordered a couple of years ago and you cant have a seat ready in time?

Sounds like BS and poor planning to me.

I agree. This has all the makings of the "Business Select" fiasco, I wonder if the same people are involved.

It took 3 1/2 years for west fleet to get uniforms that said US Airways. Of course they can't get a seat done in a couple of years.

We aren't the only ones buying these seats 700. I've seen this several times with various componants. The Flight Management Computers come to mind as an immediate example.

Or...it could be BS and poor planning.
