A330-200

I've been on quite a few AA and DL aircraft in the last 2 years that where dirty, had broken cabin items, have seen duct tape on both, etc. This is not meant to insulte AA or DL or their employees, only to reconize US is not alone, and from what I see is getting better.

The difference is: that US Trailways advertises it more than the other airlines. I know Deltoids have their problems as does AlcoholicAirlines, but I would have never known about US problems if it were not for the 'Great Duct Tape Debate of 08' that was advertised by the US @$$#0!3 employees on their threads.

I will admit the cabin appearance on the majority of the fleet has improved a lot. What I find annoying is why the promised items are not delivered such as the meal carts for the 767's. It's been HOW long now? Back to the A330-200 though I believe it will be a huge improvement over what is offered currently on int'l. At least it will be user friendly to the crew. Well minus the crew rest debacle. I can't wait to see how that plays out. 🙄

How what plays out? Has a formal grievance been filed over the F/A rest? Is the airline actually violating any part of the contract by providing dedicated coach seats with a curtain? I asked this earlier in this thread, but didn't see an answer. So did CluebyFour. I also pointed to numerous routes AA operates with a 767-300 of similar lengths to the PHL-TLV route where the F/As get a row of coach seats (with footrests) sandwiched between the mid-cabin lav and a bulkhead.

Is the TLV flight in jeopardy of not actually operating over a rest facility dispute?

The issue with crew rest for the TLV flight has already gone to arbitration. The problem is that the current contract doesn't have any language for flights of that length. So I don't know about AA but industry standard on flights of 12 hours or more and certainly to TLV other airlines have better crew rest than the current crew rest which is offered on the A330-300. I do not believe the arbitrator will rule that the current seats being given to crew as "rest" areas to TLV on the new A330-200 will be suitable. NO airline offers that to their crew. Hope this helps.
Oh and as a side note the current crew rest on the A330-300 violates the language as the seats have no curtain behind them which leaves the whole area open to daylight and basically impossible to sleep. Well that is unless you happen to stumble across a stray eye patch from the amenity kit. 🙄

FWIW, I recently flew a R/T on a few 737-400's, and the cabins looked MUCH better to me than they have in a long time. Seats, trays, and carpet were as close to spotless as possibe. The lavs were clean as well, and from what I saw the galleys were also OK. A big improvement over what they were a few years ago.

I have to agree with you on this one. I was on a 737 a couple weeks ago and was shocked on how clean and nice it looked. For a second I thougt I was one the wrong airline.

Both A330-200's are in PHL. The 2nd one arrived in PHL from BFM at 6:04p. What routes are they gonna use the 2nd one on till July 1st?

Heard 2X SJU daily until July 1st  we can't even get the one to leave on time....those poor SJU passengers!

There was a flight plan in the system last night at 9:00pm for an A332 to ferry PHL - TLV as 9243. It never got off the ground. So I don't know what that was about.

Probably a test flight plan. Not supposed to ferry to TLV.
