So who has the largest fleet of MD 80s, what about all the DC-9s NW has, does the AD apply to them, sounds like AA is the goat for the WN screw up where they actualy had a structural check which was neglected. Why didnt the FEDs look deep into WN? I guess AA takes the hit when in reality the clamps/ties had to be 1" stagger, no need to CXL flts for the entire fleet, surley the feds would give you 3-10 days to correct the problem but they hammer you when over by a 1/4.......... go figure.............

The feds did look deeper into SWA, still are. Welcome to the new FAA, no extesions on AD's period.
