For those based at JFK Flight Service have any of you noticed a pattern here? Many of our FSM's and base director's are leaving. Is there something going on at JFK Flt. Svc?

Is there life after AA? Yes, With so many economists using the ( R word ) recession, looming, ahead. This after so many already credit-obese Americans, gorged themselves on heaping helpings of mortgage housing-fat.

Maybe these FSMs are the smart ones and are finding work elsewhere, before the flood gates giveway.

Good luck to all.

Can you tell me any of the names of those who left? I have been out of the JFK loop for awhile because I transferred. I thought there were some pretty decent FSM's in NY and am curious about who got the boot or just left.

Rumor has it that USAirways is interviewing AA talent left and right. They recently had an announcement for Flight Service/Shift managers all over the system. Could be they've snapped some of them up from JFK. Could be one explanation anyway. They'll be interviewing in south Florida next week and there are more than a few AA people on their interview list.

When changing jobs isnt the CW to move up, not down? I guess the ones who go to that disaster over at U, are the ones who needed to be thinned from the herd anyway.

If this is the case then I hope they find recession proof employment.

Going over to US?  Now, that's a good one! They must have been "shown the door" at AA.

It's like transferring from the Queen Mary in the middle of the Atlantic to the Titanic to "complete" the voyage.

Well, if the rumors are true about people leaving AA for US, I'm not too surprised. One of HP's field VP's was Ross Bonnano, and he was running the non-hub pieces of the east operation after the merger. Some of you from DFW, BNA, and other places will remember that name, and I'm sure he has managed to lure a few people away from AA.

If the pay at US is better, it might not be a step down after all. Certainly, HP/US's management isn't making some of the boneheaded moves that AMR's has made in the past two years. Their operation is a basket case, but once they get that behind them, they could wind up being a more formidable competitor than a lot of people want to give them credit for.

Got to agree with you on this one(anyway) E, because even with an ENORMOUS cluster Fuuk named PHL, LLC still make $$$ in spite of them selves.

It does seem that something is going on but in all actuality there probably is not. The last FSM to leave was in a unique position in that she could retire at AA and go over to Jet Blue and receive the same salary....maybe even a bit more. Then in a couple of years she can draw on her retirement and still have a full time job. The old base manager seems to ba another piece to this puzzle in that she is luring the good people here at AA over to Jet Blue. That happens all over the business world. Just as much as the flight attendants want our pay restored...mid level management is not satisfied either. They aren't at the level of stealing profits like the fat cats and seem to be unhappy.

Gotta disagree with you that the base mgr who left lured the good people over. She was as useless as they come and Aaron A. was also an idiot.

I'm curious who the latest person is who left. Give me some initials. C.N, J.A., P.P........?
