What's new

AA hires outside consultants!

Forgot to mention that moving towards 777's would also introduce IFE into the market, and perhaps be an advantage over JetBleu, where you can't watch LiveTV all the way to Puerto Rico...

The ideal A300 replacement would be "A-market" 777's. They're starting to hit the used market already, and would be a perfect fit from a cockpit standpoint, although finding them with Trents would be impossible since very few A-models were built.

Here's the list of RR-powered A-Markets:

CX - 5
EK - 3
TG - 8

There's a few more GE-equipped, but most were P&W

No problem, NH/BBs. Love to help, but that would be a really big list. 😛

All courtesy of the successor to Bill Harms' cool website for airplane geeks, www.jetphotos.net .

I dunno if Airbus maintains detailed listings of this info on their site (Boeing sure does - allowing me to quickly compile the earlier list of RR 777s).

AFAIK, all NW A332s and A333s are powered by P&W 4168As.

If AA should acquire NW, I don't see AA keeping them.

I just looked, and the non-ER 777 has a MTOW of 545k lbs, while the A330s have a MTOW of 514k lbs. The 777 is just a little heavier than the A330s.
