No way Lost World, two of my good friends are laid off from NWA (hopefully recalled soon to full pay and benefits, with an AMFA Force Manure 2 win) , they both say the iam completely sucked, with the 1998 contract the last straw. Kind of like our latest AA/twu sellout, but not even close to what the twu gave away.

How about our AA laidoff twu members? Do you think they will be voting twu in the upcoming AMFA/twu election? I don't!!!!

Why don't the twu or the iam have a card drive going at NWA??? Still waiting....

THE twu IS OUT THE DOOR IN 04!!!!

mojo13, I wouldn't waste alot of time sitting by the computer waiting for volunteers to fill out IAM cards.

so why do they not sign afl-cio IAM cards???

How do you know they're not? 😛
Several freinds/coworkers and I in this grass roots effort called dozens of laid off people from NWA, UAL that previously worked for AA or TWA, there was one distinct common factor among those called. None of them, not one, wanted the IAM back at those airlines. Granted there are a few cultist officers that were thrown out on their asses (and probable a few close cronies of those officers) who want the IAM back but, they are the exceptions to the rule!!! The IAM has had an ongoing card drive at NWA from the time they were allowed to begin. You have to love this quote, "THE PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING!!!"

You know how many cards the iam gets every time they start a drive mojo? About 250. They have had several attempts. Its been six years since AMFA booted the iam, and the iam still can't even get close to filing for an election. Why is that?

I have a great idea mojo 13, my world, j7915, drip earl. kwill, why don't you smartasses start a twu organizing drive at NWA? See how you will be recieved passing out twu cards at the gate in MSP or DTW. You won't last 5 minutes. I'll even go with you and take some abuse, just to prove my point. Tell me when your ready.

Do we have a DEAL?

THE twu IS OUT THE DOOR IN 04?

Laid off employees with recall rights just like here at AA are eligible to vote, so why do they not sign afl-cio IAM cards??? Could it be because even those laid off cannot stand the industrial unions never ceasing decline of benefits and wages!!!
Actually the furloughed personnel from both AMFA repped UAL and NWA do not see themselves returning to their airline. They were not furloughed because of traffic slowdown, they were furloughed due to their jobs going overseas and to 3rd party vendors in the US.

Most have already crosstrained to another profession, knowing their job is gone forever. Alas, even those AMFA organizers are gone...they sold their jobs down the road. Hey!...We have a 38% cap...yahoooooo...shoot up a flare! We showed them! *sarcasm of course*

You don't even speak for yourself in a dignified way.

What makes think you should speak for those at other airlines?

yes and im sure all those furloughed mechanics across the nation are drooling to come to work at AA for $9.00 an hour. i personally know two mechanics who resigned rather than be sent back to a shop and loose their liscense premiums.....TWU SUX AND SO DO MECHANIC WAGES AT AA.

American needs to rename itself WALMARTAIR. The "real" American Airlines died along time ago. I don't see hardly anything "American" at American Airlines anymore. The whole idea of the "American way" was that our standard of living would go up,not down!

Hey Drip E Kwill come on down to the local 12 hall and call some of those laid off United and NorthWest mechanics your self or keep your head up your ass witch ever you think best. But at least admit you don't know what the people laid off think if you don't have the balls to find out.

You miserable people should just quit American and get a job at WAA airlines

My World, sorry buddy only losers are quitters, we're not either. We are willing to take the chance and change our representatives. The TWU is like a house that is so termite infested that it is more fesible to raze it, than to try and make repairs. I just can't bring myself to support a union that has some of its representives appointed, as opposed to being voted in (or out). Looks like a "good ole boy" setup if you ask me. If you can't be voted into a position because of your merits, then you don't belong in that position. TWU like the IAM had too many of these "appointed positions" that were strictly YES MEN. Look at AMFA's rules reguarding this issue. While you're at it look at AMFA's Constitution regarding elections. Do you see the difference? AMFA requires an outside, neutral person(including anyone running for the elected position) to go with the union to pick up the ballots at the post office, so that there is no question about weather the ballots have been tampered with. You're posts are beginning to sound alot like Drippy's. Same part number, different dash? BTW, what color is the sky in MY WORLD?

And just what do you know about the TWU flyaguy? Thought you were ex-TWA..as in "my daddy worked for TWA, I worked for TWA and my boy is getting his A&P". Three generations of crybabies I bet.

Tell me quickly flyaguy, who'll be your rep as AMFA @ MCI...TA? Pete?...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...maybe even you! If ya can quit crying long enough...now that made my belly hurt...OMG...HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Drip E. Kwill, for starters, Yes my father, NOT DADDY (only limpy wrists use that word) did work for TWA, I did, and am now AA, and my son is still in school for his A&P. I just hope to hell I can contribute to the betterment of his profession. Represented by a union of mechanics, for mechanics. 3 generations of cry-babies? I'm only the second generation, but I'm just as discussted with the TWU as my father was with the IAM. Same self-serving bastards in both union "appointed positions". With any luck, I can keep my son from having to deal with the scum of the earth in appointed positions. Like I, and my father have had to deal with. Yes, I would go with T.A. and also Pete. Me? No, I enjoy busting my knuckles and turning wrenches. I took this job as a mechanic because I enjoy what I do, I feel sorry for anyone that doesn't feel the same way. I have been asked to take a position with AMFA when they take control. I have turned them down. I have no desire to sit behind a desk. I am, and will always be a mechanic. I'm not afraid to get dirty, or bust my nuts to get a job done. I'm proud to sign-off the work I do, as are the people I work with. We are a team that puts the airplanes in the air, and keeps them safe. That takes PRIDE, something that may need to be looked up in the dictionary for you. Steve Connell, aka Drip. E. Kwill, aka Serigo, aka, KNOWAMFA, aka whoever you might try to pass yourself as, you are big in stature, but you are small in the common sence department. Your attitude got you put on graveyard, doesn't that tell you something? Your TWU failed you just like I told you they would. The handwriting is on the wall. The problem is, even if the truth hit you between the eyes, you woudn't know it.

My first guess would be your lack of support.
And you would guess WRONG!

And exactly how was the support "lacking"?

This is the TWUs favorite tactic, blame the members for the leaderships lack of action, that would be a fair assertion if the membership was able to pick the leaders but they are not, all the members can do is pick the witnesses.

The fact is that Jim Little said that we should never reject a TA because the company would never add anything to the offer. He said this the last time he was at a 562 meeting.

When is the last time the members failed the TWU?
