700UW, why don't you take your SCAB ass back to the U. S(cab) AIR board and take KTO with you. Your IAM refused to fight against concessions and led the whole airline industry to ruin.

Only because our unions let us down. Airlines in Europe are having to deal with the same things yet they are not taking the beating we are.

If we had strong unions we would have told them "no concessions, if its such an essential service that we can not strike in order to get increases then be prepared to keep it going during a downturn, you're not taking it from us".

Actually you can blame ALPA for getting the ball rolling at UAL years back, and if you did not notice the IAM never reached a deal at US and we had our contract abrogated and the members voted in the company's final offer.

And sorry I have never crossed a picket line and never performed struck work, try again.

And you and your TWU cohorts at AA took concessions when you were not even n bankruptcy, US was at least in chapter 11.

Once again, don't let the facts get in your way.

You are either a liar or forgetful.

You took your first round of concessions prior to BK, then your second, third etc in BK.

The mechanics voted NO and the IAM made them revote on the same proposal.

I wont defend what happened with the TWU but Tulsa and the TWU have always been the weak link, I think I even threw that out on the USAIR thread on these boards three years ago.

Maybe you should look in the mirror and call yourself the liar. US filed bankruptcy in August of 2003 on a Sunday, for the first time, they threw a final offer at the NC on that day and it was voted on in September of 2003. So US was all ready in bankruptcy.

Then the second round was in Jan of 04 still in bankruptcy then the third back in January of this year while in bankruptcy.

Maybe if you worked for US or were an IAM member instead of your self-proclaimed know-it-all you might be right.

Don't let the facts get in your way once again Bob!

I hate to burst your bubble (actually, I really do enjoy it), but per friends at NWA the AOS is down considerably since the weekend. What's better, completion factor for 8/23 was 96.9% vs. 91% on 8/19, the last day AMFA-represented Mechanics were "on the job" (and I do say that with a heavy dose of sarcasm). God forbid, it appears Northwest can keep operating without you; who'da thunk it?

BTW, I got a good chortle from Bob Rose' prediction that NWA's entire DC-9 fleet would be grounded by the end of the month; do the Men in Black know he's here on earth?

It was my understanding that prior to filing BK the company made a final offer that was accepted by Fleet Service but rejected by the mechanics. The "bankrupt"company paid the union a sum of money, something like a $million to "conduct" the vote and after rejecting the final offer the mechanics revoted in Bankruptcy, accepting the offer.

You may have me on this one so I guess I owe you an apology.

You'll get it when you stop supporting scabbing.

I don't support scabbing, I disagree with what the IAM is doing over at NWA, I just explained the contract language.

At US they threw final offers at M&R and Fleet on a Sunday, they walked in the room said take it or leave it this is a final offer and we are filing bankruptcy today.

Both groups voted at the same time, M&R Rejected, Fleet ratified this was in Sept of 03, then the scared membership wanted to vote again instead of sticking with the first results, Siegel said he would hold his own vote, the District did not want to revote, but they were overruled by the International.

All unions, IAM, ALPA, AFA, CWU and the TWU were reimbursed for negotiations expenses, just as the latest round of concessions at US, was the TWU reimbursed by AA?

Gee StratusMaximus, are the "friends" you have at NWA the same ones that state to the press its all running just so damn "flawless"? Hmmm, not by the looks of MSP and DET ramps with OTS aircraft parked like cord wood, and scabs trying to trouble shoot aircraft most have never seen. As I said, liar, liar..... pants on fire.

Did ya hear about 'ol Stealand having a fit? Here ya go....

I heard a rumor that a DC-9 capt in MSP requested that one of his engines needed to be serviced with oil. A few minutes later a scab came to the cockpit and asked him where to add the oil. The irate capt heard that steamland was observing in the world club lounge and he proceeded up to confront the bastard. steenlard in a fit kicked over a chair.

Priceless

Outsourcing is part of the reason Dell's customer satisfaction rating has slipped from #1. Most of the complaints are because folks can't understand what the tech reps from India, (insert other foreign countries as needed), are telling them. In other words their english sucks for the most part.

Amazing since Dell Computers outsources just about everything particularly to Asia......but then so will NWA shortly.

The TWU recieves $3.1 million/yr from the company. It was one of the few things on the so called "Vermont Plan" that the company did not take back.
