Gee StratusMaximus, are the "friends" you have at NWA the same ones that state to the press its all running just so damn "flawless"? Hmmm, not by the looks of MSP and DET ramps with OTS aircraft parked like cord wood, and scabs trying to trouble shoot aircraft most have never seen. As I said, liar, liar..... pants on fire.

Did ya hear about 'ol Stealand having a fit? Here ya go....

I heard a rumor that a DC-9 capt in MSP requested that one of his engines needed to be serviced with oil. A few minutes later a scab came to the cockpit and asked him where to add the oil. The irate capt heard that steamland was observing in the world club lounge and he proceeded up to confront the bastard. steenlard in a fit kicked over a chair.

Priceless

Hackman,
I heard something about this from a NW captain. Supposedly at some sort of meeting with NW management the subject of bonuses, stock maturities, and compensations were brought up and Steenland flipped out, kicking over chairs and yelling.
Obviously someone must have hit a nerve there on the subject.

Yeah, and I heard a rumor that you're not biased.

By the way, the airport code for Detroit is DTW; DET is an insecticide used to kill annoying little parasites like...oh, nevermind.

Thanks for tip, had a long night.

That makes two of us for "bias", company stooge. I have heard many more juicy rumors, but I'll stay with that one about "Dougie" for now. Make sure you pack your golden parachute well, if your lucky enough to be a blue blood SERP lackey. Most likely your just mindless company robot.

"Oh, nevermind." Sounds like a "Leave to Beaver" re-run. 🙄

<_< By the way! It's "DDT"', the insecticide, not "DET"!!!

Both are correct.... sort of.

DDT is a pesticide which is now banned in the US (back in the 70's) and most countries. Probably the most effective at fighting malaria, however it also has residual impacts on birds and other wildlife.

DEET is still commonly used today in insect repellants.

DET, DTW, DDT,DEL What does it matter you bickering little betties. You union boys just don’t get it. You’re through.

Hackman:

You and I have been waging a war of words since Saturday that neither of us appears to be winning. So I’m going to try to end it.

Here’s how I really feel about all of this. I think both NWA and AMFA were too extreme in their positions. However, neither the company nor the union is being hurt by the current situation; only the 4,500 mechanics and their families that lost their livelihoods. If the contingency plan fails and Northwest restarts negotiations, it won’t make-up for the wages the mechanics have lost or the loss of NWA's credibility in the eyes of its employees, customers, and investors. However, if Northwest is successful, its strategy will become the blueprint for busting unions everywhere, not just the airline industry; an outcome neither of us relish. I'm not predicting either outcome here, only what I believe will be the long-term effects.

So, there you have it. Regardless of what happens, everyone will have lost something. I can only hope that the both sides constructively apply the lessons learned in the future.

Have you guys heard about one a/c being serviced by a scab that had put hyd fluid in the motors?

Over the next four years the concessions I took will equate to working one year for free. I would have rather have been on strike for a year than work for free for a year.

MCI, maybe he meant Deet.

I like how you continually focus on the percentage of the pay cut, and totally ignore the rest of your compensation including pension, life insurance, and health/dental care...

Have you priced out the cost of life insurance or a health plan lately? I have, and it ain't cheap.

Could one of the AMFA strikers tell us just how much that September COBRA payment is going to be?

"Could one of the AMFA strikers tell us just how much that September COBRA payment is going to be"?

Ranges from 269.50 + 39.42 dental for a single policy holder to 1359.54 + 109.18 dental for employee and family - per month.

<_< If he was making that extra $20,000 per year, he should be able to swing it without too much of a problem!!! But Mr. ex moderator is correct! When anyone go'es on strike it's a no win situation in the short term! But the short term is not what it's all about now is it????

The problem is there are no long terms on NW books for AMFA and its zombie followers.

Did anyone ever ask AMFA where their money went?
