COMPANY WEB CAST

Last week, our CEO conducted a web cast. Nothing new was stated
in his web cast. AFA has still not received the business plan, a
proposal, or a clear outline of the level of participation for
management under the new "plan".

It is clear that our CEO now wants to make us just like JetBlue.
Here's how we compare to JetBlue:

First six months (75 hour yield):
3 JetBlue 01/01/03 18,600.00
5 US Airways 01/01/04 18,360.00

Sixth year (75 hour yield):
14 JetBlue 01/01/03 25,110.00
3 US Airways 01/01/04 29,583.00

Highest year (75 hour yield):
12 JetBlue 13th yr. 01/01/03 35,712.00
10 US Airways 14th yr. 01/01/04 36,945.00
(first number in each line above indicates overall ranking out
of 43 airlines source: AFA research department)

It appears our CEO is no longer interested in comparing us with
Southwest. He wants to penalize our employees because we are a
more senior group of employees than those at JetBlue. We just
want you to have some idea of what this management team will be
asking for when we finally get a formal proposal from them.

NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETING & PROXY STATEMENT

The Notice of Annual Meeting and Proxy Statement of US Airways
Group, Inc., will be issued soon. The Annual Meeting will be
held on May 19 in Prattville, AL. The meeting will begin at
0930.

One item that I personally need to address relates to
information that will be published in my bio as a Board member.
That information relates to my filing of personal bankruptcy
last year. As much as I believe it is very personal information,
the law requires that it be disclosed in the proxy statement.
The only thing I will say regarding that matter is that my
filing had absolutely nothing to do with US Airways or the pay
cuts we have taken. I prefer to tell you about that information
here rather than have you read it in the proxy statement.

This e-line and hotline will be updated as soon as any new
information becomes available. Thanks for staying informed.

Perry Hayes
MEC President

Unfortunately, the seniority issue is making all the difference when it comes to US' labor costs. US has the most senior workforce in the industry, and the bankruptcy actually WORSENED the situation (instead of creating a more junior labor poll, ala CO, HP, and UA).
