In the case of Delta, it's about THEIR hostile blog post and just the arrogance of those stupid pins. Funny, anyone that points that out or gets angry about it is considered sick and need meds. I have no pity for the DAL employees who have been arrogant, snotty, and rude to non-DAL folk for years.
If US Airways wants to throw away $4 billion dollars, spend it to transform US into a respected company that takes care of both customers AND employees.

You have to understand, tho, that the DL folks are scared. Fear of the future (unknown) breeds anger and general hostility. That is what they are experiencing now. If the buttons make them feel a little sense of place, of pride, then let them wear their little buttons. 😉 It's nothing personal against US or its employees, its nothing more than intense fear. It might not be as bad if they had been shown a plan of emergence from their current mgmt, but, alas, they have not received that either. Imagine what that feels like (we've been there!! :blink: )

I want the merger if it will mean that the new DL will become a global powerhouse, a force to be reckoned with, which is able to fairly compete in this extremely difficult industry. It is out of our hands.....

The HELL with Delta!!

This post truly saddens me. Where does such anger come from?

Another group of employees (DL) has pride in their company and faith in their management and want to show it., and all some want to do is tell them to go to hell.

I remember a similar button campaign with parties around the system that was roundly thrashed by most on this board. The employees of US could not wait to come on here and thrash the program.

I would not have given you a plug nickel for DL three years ago when I first started flying DL. They had a management team that had no idea how to run an airline, as Leo had been an executive with a utility company before coming to DL. (when was the last time you called the phone company and was happy with the call) They even had a name for their program. Simply Good Business. Employees took 40% pay cuts and loss of pensions. This same management set up secret deals to protect their unearned pensions and walk away with millions a piece. (sound familiar to any one here?)

Moral tanked. Performance tanked. FF left in droves.

New management comes in. Young guys. The next CEO was a PM on DL as a customer not that many years ago. He understands that the airline business is a customer service business, not just transportation. They started making many changes. They want to "run" the airline, not just cash checks. One of the first things they did was start an honest dialogue with their employees.

Investments were made in systems. Planes were being cleaned. New uniforms were adopted……and before long the old pride in the slogan “we love to fly and it showsâ€￾ started coming back. Customers started noticing about a year ago. They started coming back. DL started making money again.

So now we have a company with employees who care about the company and their product and some here can not stand it. They would rather pull them down to their own level.

How sad.

Agreed, Piedmont, US is on the upswing! Cannot wait to see the new uniforms, heard they are great. we really truly do have the best employees in the biz! Adding us to the great employees of DL would be a great match! We will see what happens! Until then, best of luck to both employee groups as they work incredibly hard in the face of much uncertainty. We've been doing it for years, why should it be any different today?

You people beat all. This is the ONLY place one can brag, joke, complain, biitch, or spew about airline stuff. Give it a break. Some of you are being a little self righteous. You all are getting a bit too saintly. Take about a third of the emotion. The rest is for effect.

1. I never applied for DAL.
2. I am angry because of the hostility towards our company. When people say ESPECIALLY US Airways, it IS personnel and you should be insulted.
3. If you have never experienced the snobbery of DAL, consider yourself lucky.
4. I smell a repeat of the PI/US merger with the problems with merging a company that hates you and customers who are WORST!!
5. Maybe I'm not a forgiving person, but TWICE the DAL f/a's had a chance to go with AFA and gave us the finger. The thoughts of playing nice with these people by giving them DOH makes my stomach turn.

Angry? Yes, because US Airways needs to improve it's OWN product and can better spend any money from a loan on improving our product and becoming the BEST airline, not the LARGEST. I would love to see us take what we have now and silence our critics by investing in the new US Airways product.

CEO's lie all the time. There is NO WAY the new Delta will keep all these hubs. Unless we sell off all the express carriers, discontinue affiliates, and use the current fleets on those routes, something has to give.

You know what is sad? People like you who try to make passionate people like me look bad...the same passion that HUNDREDS have lashed out against US employees.

It is also sad that a hick from HICKory still hangs on to the days of PI, who, BTW, was a pilot's airline and cared not about anyone else...AND LOOONGS for them.

What is sad is that nobody can be angry or upset except DAL employees and cutomers.

L4P, I am on to you!! You paint anyone that differs from you as some sick person who needs meds. Well, slam as you want, but I am PROUD to be a US employee!! All the bad mouthing in the WORLD will NOT change that. Maybe it's time you go support the DAL troops and leave the US boards! As the DAL employees have said ...in a Christian way said in a christian southern kind of way...just GO WAY!! We don't want you. We don't NEED you!!

You lose any credibility you have by insulting him.

You insulted the employees of DL, that is not right and you insult LP4, and him and I disagree, but insulting him does not prove you right, it actually makes you look ignorant and wrong.

The voice off reason..thank you..but when the like of LP4 insults me, I WILL fight back. The DAL employees have more than insulted the US employees in the last week. If you haven't already, take a look at the blogs. I am tired of being kind when WE are portrayed as the enemy!

DL employees do not know how to react, they are being misinformed on how things work with a union carrier and they are just stunned at US' offer.

Cut them some slack as they are being led out of fear and not reason.

HP employees did the same and now you are working together.

America West buys US Air but keeps the US Air name.
Now US Air (America West) wants to buy Delta and keep
the Delta name. Which employees are making out on this
deal and which ones are getting screwed? There are 3
different companies involved. Integration of America
West and US Air employees have not been settled and
a third issue may come into play. It is a mess and a
large number of people will lose jobs.
