The Saab 340 allegedly has half the operating costs of a regional jet (of course, that was from the Saab website itself, so take it for what it's worth.). I belive it's less, but highly doubt it's half.

As for the CRJ? Well, the CASM at Pinnacle for the year 2005 was 14.21. You can check out the numbers for yourself here; scroll about 80% down the page.....

PTO I dont know if this helps, but here goes.

a crj from PHL to ABE burns about 2000 pounds of fuel according to the flight crew.

The dash burns 400 fuel. But a Saab from PIT to ABE burns exactly 1000 pounds of fuel. The Saab takes 1 hr and 5 min from PIT to ABE.
