American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

Devil is in the details.

The thing is there may be limited choices as to what to do next.

Hopefully, others saw this coming and adjusted their position to maximize the value of the proposal.

For all the "doom and gloom" accusations when this was brought up as a probable course for the airline, it would have been nice to have had the conversation months ago rather than just dismiss it. If both sides understood each others positions better then maybe we could stand closer together rather than pointing fingers at each other.

Unless you go to a few of the IAM Group pages there isn’t much intermingling to really have those conversations honestly.

Ok but don’t you also see how they’re trying to pit us against each other?

I didn’t read Catering taken back off the table?
No changes to the Medical ask?
No change to the IAMPF ask?

Obviously, we need to also monitor that PT language and is “When and where so directed” still in any ask?

Of course, but we could've had this conversation long ago and maybe educated each side to anticipate these actions and be better prepared but we weren't and now the decision could be based more on an emotional response rather than long-term benefits. The lack of transparency in the process and the insufficient information that was shared has put us at a disadvantage.

It has always been the case the TWU had more to gain and the IAM had more to lose, that won't change just because of where we each are in our current CBA language.

Not everything will be taken off the table, an unrealistic expectation. You have always maintained that we need to realize this is about compromise.

As much as Tim hates it and as precarious a positiin it may be in keeping the IAMPF would have gone A long way to appease the LUS folks at least those I have spoken to

Its business, nothing personal

Well I’m going to wait till our guys have a chance to fully dissect it but I have a feeling for me it’s still going to be a case of close but no cigar?

Ok NYer but right now I feel like the prize winning Cow and the IAM side is the ugly heffer they want to slaughter for Dog Food.

Ok but if 40% PT numbers survive what will that look like?
As long as me and Bob arent downgraded I couldnt give a rats balls.Seriously they have to.......I mean it would be nice if they threw LUS a bone

Sure. And if we go into Section 6 many TWU Members will feel the opposite as they'll see us as the ugly heffer to the IAM's prize winning cow.
