It's interesting that this forum is only "TOXIC" when the Nelson agenda is questioned...
It's NOT toxic, when the union leadership is slandered, with no recourse, or way to defend themselves without Nelson reporting them to the DOL!
It's NOT toxic, when anyone in here (like 700 for instance), is called a criminal, and he can't defend himself, or his reputation because, someone strategically
had him thrown off the site...
It's NOT toxic, when Tim Nelson degrades a members children, and calls him, along with everyone else a moron, that will not agree with him...
It's NOT toxic when Nelson calls posters here liars, morons, and union paid trolls, simply because they wont bow to his disinformation campaign.

If an agreement is signed in months as opposed to years the rumbling will for the most part end and another attemp will fail but I dont blame them If I was an AMT I would have wanted a change when they started to shift MTC work to fleet

The first time that a Baggage Handler ever even came into position as a separate entity would be in my guess after the Mechanics had already organized with the TWU back in 1947 and maybe IAM back in 1949 when Soldiers returning from WW2 were given many pretty menial jobs from Company’s that felt an ethical responsibility in being Patriotic.

Slowly over time is my guess that work was shifted by mutual agreement over to the FSC at LAA?

I wish I knew the story of exactly when Baggage Handlers joined the Union at AA? Perhaps the Mechanics and them joined at the same time although there would have been way less I’m sure then.

And no animosity then either I bet.

as a note, none of our agcs ever negotiated anything. they were always only "next room over" so i cant give them credit for anything other than their votes to hose United. Those votes have now come back to haunt us as Parker wants the same givebacks.

Setting aside the expected jokes Al if you think about it back then. What need would there have been for any dedicated Baggage Handlers really? I’m not even sure if passengers placed any bags in the Cargo holds and wasn’t your Airline even just a Mail Carrier back then?

American Airways probably only had a few Mechanics in each city and it was all hands on deck when anything was put in the Cargo holds? Probably Pilots, Mechanics and a Customer Service Rep who was also a Manager handled all that?

Probably explains why at your Airline Baggage Handlers weren’t part of the original IAM back in 1949. There were probably none of you at all in existence I would think.

It was much better when he quarantined himself. NYer was more active after he left, but then weez handlers had him come back to make sure NYer didn't have smooth sailing. I hope weez doesn't try to sabotage NYer's next election.
