You think it’s a surprise to anybody that it is very unlikely next to impossible that we would ever be able to strike. The nmb told us in 14 as the 5th largest carrier that we would never be released to strike. So quit acting like you are professying something that nobody knows.
And again, you don’t have the ability to comprehend what you read. The association update doesn’t say we will be able to strike. Plz copy and post for all to see where it says that. It states we will exercise all options under the railway labor act including self help. Self help only comes if your released.

Our members had two opportunities to vote. The Association prevented that from happening and that benefited the IAM and hurt the TWU. I lay the blame squarely on the shoulders of the TWU. Thank you for giving us a voice.

The TWU are really just coming off this debacle as morons. At least the IAM did the job for their members. From a business perspective, I can't say enough bad things about the TWU. The company posts their jetnet letters and never mentions or describes the negatives. The cost numbers they mentioned sounded absurd. I think the Association needs to start explaining things to the members. At least the TWU needs to.

The IAM leadership did not fail. Either keep their insurance from a not voting or keep their insurance via T/A. Not voting is just as productive as a T/A, at least in the mid to long term. CB and P.REZ did fine. Alex and boys are the ones that let their members down. At least in the mid to long term.

Seems to me if the Association is truly a representative of both groups, and this last offer was unacceptable, then the actual membership would reject it when put out to a vote. This would send a powerful message to the company and the NMB it needs improvement. This would give the Association quite a bit more leverage going forward. Without a vote the company senses a "paper lion" and has double downed. I do recall this argument being raised before. This point was clearly disregarded and here we are. Section 6 with no leverage.

Can't really blame the IAM guys for coming through for their people. On the other hand, when people in most areas of work fail for their company they get terminated. The membership of the TWU is now left holding their gonads for the unlimited future as strike talk is laughable in this business now. Lots of very angry people in my work area today.

The TA from 2012 (AMT) was unacceptable but the offered buyout fed the greed of enough to vote yes and stick the rest of us with the crap we have today. There is another buyout with this and the same thing will happen. People who will not be around to live under the crap they vote in do not care. We need to insist to the negotiators that the buyout not be either in the TA or a condition of the TA passing. Then I would be OK with a vote. We have enough morons who vote yes on anything so we don't need greedy ones voting yes so they can get theirs while hosing those of us who are going to be here.
