Agree with you Kev. Maybe once they get rid of our low skilled jobs someone of his stature may allow me to carry his tools around, kinda like a caddie. I'll just have to figure out the difference between a phillips and flat head, and if righty tighty and lefty loosey is still in play.

First lesson....

All kidding aside aanotok, you havr reasonable views and are able to disagree. Weaasle has a chip on his shoulder when ever someone disagrees with him. Then the childish behavior comes out. He brings out the best in people.

And yes righty tighty, lefty loosy still applies.

i see that southwest has amfa for AMT and twu for fleet. each side makes the same/more than aa.

does amfa mean that much more in favorable disparity of pay for AMT over fleet (twu) with southwest? if it does, the trade-off is O/H jobs, outsourcing?

bottom line is the belief that aa AMTs will successfully keep the same scope that is better than any other us domestic airline and higher pay & benefits than any other us domestic carrier with a different union?
It's about negotiating for your class and craft or work group separately. The association denied us of that over greed for union dues.

who makes excuses for their fleet make-up? the fact that they only fly 737s or did you mean something else? i'd think southwest can use that advantage with pilots, training and parts.

i remember when an alaska air s-80 went down and they 'self-grounded' their s-80s for awhile. to me, southwest, mainly, got a break early this summer worth billions when the faa didn't even consider that.

the winning aa used to wait..bide it's time and let delta wrestle with the new md-11 and united with the new 777. let those airlines work out the kinks and spotty reliability with mcdonnell-douglas/boeing and angry passengers.

the new aa has how many different types of planes?
Yes sir. Our mixed fleet is similar to what we had in the 80's and 90's.
Braniff 727's
Trans Caribbean 727's. I believe we had their 707's too.
Pan Am DC 10's
World DC 10's
AirCal 737's and BAE 146's
Morris Air MD80's
Then later on we picked up TWA's
767's, 757's, MD80's.

Today we have such a mix I'm not even going to figure it out.

But yet, they never had a problem with PT mechanics.
Not sure about that M&M. I would think they would have a problem with more P/T than F/T mechanics. Just haven't seen or heard it mentioned as of yet.

When we went AMFA, one condition was to get the cleaners out of our contract as they were included in the pie for the mechanics.
Now that we are the majority it's better for both groups in the long run. Much more focus on the mechanics with a mechanics union representing us. Not a truckers union (teamsters) as we had before.

Now how do we tell that to the individuals at AA about this idea? They just don't care or are brain washed.

Exactly! Every time I see a post like that, I'm reminded of all the places I've seen outfits like Jett Care take over AMT work. They're not immune.

We should be helping one another (re)capture all the work we can.

All the AA TWU fleet presidents in Dallas today to discuss strategy moving forward. All xcept one who never shows up but his members don't care. No fighting IAM agc's either. What are we doing here people?

Waste of paid bandwidth telling people who’ve heard it before the same thing over and over and over to ad nauseous.

Actually it’s the fact that a few of you posters here do nothing but constantly complain about pretty much everything. You know it’s true. And the fact that you guys repeat the same crap a thousand times just to be frankly annoying.

There are very few people here that actually want to carry on any conversations.

And the fact that you tolerate NUTS just because they fit your agenda.

No point in hiding who it is. It’s already well known that it’s Victor Gonzalez Local 501 President.

Better results with AMFA?
